RWC: Japan v Ireland (Pool A)

Ireland can still finish top no? Even if they end up evens with Japan on wins they can pip them on bonus points if (if) they deal to Samoa and Russia.

I don't see it as being one game, not very genuine to say that. Ireland have been on the decline all year.
This. Looked to me other teams had worked out Ireland in the last 6N's

Not if Japan win their remaining games.

If we win this thing after beating the Boks, the Irish, the Poms, then the Boks again, then we well and truly deserve it.
No.
The refs favour us and the haka intimidates our opponents, remember.

Correct. And this scenario could easily play out. I'm not sure why some are so quick to assume that this result means we definitely get Ireland in the QFs.

@akan004 👍 makes me wonder if Scotland will get up for their match v Japan. Suspect Japan will be too good for Samoa.
It will be hard for Japan to get up for Scotland. And Scotland will be desperate to make amends for losing to Ireland

@pukunui Exactly. People tend to foolishly underrate or overrate a team based on one performance. If we played Ireland in the quarter final, there's no guarantees that we will won it.

That's fair but I think the bastards may have one big game left in them.
That's their next fixture in reprisal.

Not out of the realms

If losing to Japan isn't a big game, then I don't know what is.

@Bones only big in retrospect 😁
Hindsight aye!
How hot was it btw?
I'd say with 20 minutes to go isn't exactly looking back!
