I think he has a decent argument (to being aussies greatest) to be fair. his boxing record is very good especially as a crossover athlete and he was a very good league player. I think Hayne needs a decent crack at the NFL to be win this one. it really is a stupid argument though and hard to compare<br>

<p>Mundine wasn't anywhere near the league player Hayne was, based on those stats alone. </p>

<p>Some of Mundine's boxing has been good, drawing praise from even the harshest critics.</p>

<p>The good news for Hayne is with the 49ers being so horrible - it actually increases his chances of seeing more action as they look for a spark.</p>

<p>For one - it is possibl he takes over kickoff returns as DeAndrew White the rookie was poor in this regard. Wouldn't surprise me to see Hayne featured a bit in the offense too - try and get him in some space.</p> -

<p>Yeah - also general kick return is seen as a more dangerous role - as is more of a case of the opposition flying down the field from 70 yards away whereas from a punt there are more variables.</p>

<p>So much so that the NFL have actually changed the rules to bring the spot of the kickoff closer to the endzone so that it is more likely to result in the ball being kicked dead (resulting in an automatic start from the 20 yard line) or result in the opposition taking a knee inside the endzone (also resulting in an automatic start from the 20 yard line) - fewer 'live' kickoffs hopefully resulting in fewer injuries.</p>

<p>So you might sometimes see a star player on punt return but not kickoff return due to injury risk. Not that it matters much at present in Hayne's case - as Hayne is not a star worth protecting at this point - however when Reggie Bush comes back he may take over punt returns (although not if Hayne keeps returning like vs Arizona).</p> -

<p>The 49ers Special Teams coach has made comment about Hayne as punt returner vs kick returner</p>

NFL will struggle this weekend for media time in UK due to England V Australia on Saturday night (UK time).</p>
