All Blacks vs Tonga

"With respect to sanction the Foul Play Review Committee deemed the act of foul play merited a mid-range entry point of 6 weeks due to World Rugby instructions that dictate any incident of foul play which results in contact with the head and/or neck must start at a mid-range level. However, taking into account mitigating factors including the Player's exemplary judicial record, his expressed remorse and the fact the Player has pleaded guilty at the first available opportunity, the Foul Play Review Committee reduced the suspension to 3 weeks." "The Foul Play Review Committee adjourned the hearing to seek more evidence regarding the Player's proposed schedule of matches. Upon reconvening the Foul Play Review Committee was presented with extensive evidence demonstrating the Player's intended playing schedule." "The player is therefore suspended for 3 weeks, up to and including Sunday 1 September 2019.”
So that's Bledisloe 2, Taranaki v Northland and Taranaki v Ta$man.

Nonu missed the 2007 World Cup squad
Was the making of him in many ways. Worked hard on his game after that
Nonu post-2007 was consistently outstanding - became a blend of raw power, skill and subtle touches

If Josh Ioane is not in the squad - and I don't expect them to pick him - then I'd like TWM to try out the "injured 10" scenario in the second half of this game. So start BB or RM at 10 in this game, and replace him in the game management role by the best playmaker of the non-first fives (I think that's probably Crotty) and make sure you have a good goal kicker on the field (Jordie), and see how that goes. If it's not Crotty, it needs to be another experienced back with excellent organisation and communication skills. To me, that's not Jordie.

Sounds like a job for Michael Collins.

Wallabies would win that, their training is reputedly (by themselves) to be the best in the world.

I dunno, you can't beat it when Foolau is shut up

Team I'd pencil in for this one
Atu Moli, Liam Coltman, Angus Ta'avao, Patrick Tuitupolou, Sam Whitelock, Luke Jacobson, Matt Todd, Ardie Savea, Brad Weber, Josh Ioane (although he won't be in main RWC squad), George Bridge, Ryan Crotty, Reiko Ioane, Sevu Reece, Ben Smith
Bench: Dane Coles, Ofa T, Nepo Laulala, Scott Barrett, Kieran Read, TJP, SBW, Jordie Barrett
Opportunity to try out a few things, give first Test starts to a few of the squad and a chance to say goodbye to guys going offshore after the RWC.

Sam W too valuable to risk.
