So the cull is announced tomorrow, I wonder if at the traditional stupid o'clock in the morning?

We lost a whole point against the boks in the world rankings with the draw, so boks jumped England into fourth. And a loss against Oz means Wales number 1. Which we probably won't get back even if we then beat them at Eden park afterwards

Any chance Nathan Harris will come back in? Neither of Aumua or Coltman have thrown competently.

Coltman is so frustrating, he's great around the field, but couldn't hit a bull's ass with a barn shovel when he is throwing to the line out.

What irritates me about that is it's an easy thing to fix. A mate of mine that studied in Dunedin told me he watched Anton practice throwing on a basketball court and every throw of the rugby ball got nothing but net. This during a time when our lineout was pants. There's no excuse for not being able to throw accurately and consistently.

Three parts to the lineout though (jumper, lifters and thrower) so it is not always the hookers fault for an over-throw/under-throw. Not straight definitely on them.

Only thing that would make it interesting would be if the 5 names read out are

Read, B. Smith, Coles, Franks, SBW

    "Time to inject youth"

@Canes4life I find that hard to believe. Especially compared to Aumua.

I think Coles is the best lineout thrower in the world and still our first choice hooker, Taylor is ok but he tends to have a couple of bad throws per game and the rest are terrible. Wouldn't want either Coles or Taylor to get injured.

Hansen is ruthless. I think the only person there who may get a bit of leniency is Reado - and I think they will still back him to peak for a few games in Sept/Oct.

Last RWC they left Dagg at home when he'd been excellent, and got rid of Jane prior to that ( I think). I have no concerns about their ability to drop players they don't think are up to it.

finally, we don't know the training load these players are under. There's an argument that we've been flogged in trianing, and looking to taper for the Cup -- that all of our sluggish, shitty losses are due to smashing the players during the week. I don't know if I see it,but it's a theory 😃

    Has Aumua even played?

Harris is going to have to rely on something else if he is to get back in because his throwing is just as bad as the others.

No, he and Josh Ioane haven't had any game time.

Edited to add: Neither has Tu'inukuafe, but he's not an unknown at test level.

Basically he’s a known known whereas the others are known unknowns.

    So, missing out are:
Aumua, Tu’inukuafe, Frizell, Papali'i, Josh Ioane

To return for RWC: Crotty and - hopefully - Retallick

    They kept Fifita ...

    Fifita leads a charmed career.

    Jacobson has leapfrogged Dalton?

Three players who are 7s points to some interesting combos down the track.

Surely Karl needs time on the field for NH to prove his fitness.

Papalii wasn't given a chance unlike Fifita. 😠

Let's see who plays in Perth.
