It doesn't matter if people are supposed to be impressed or not, people are impressed enough to retweet etc. Every contact with this and the team brings them a step closer to flopping in the final.
I like Coney, he's my favourite commentator around. I suspect, as he cracked upon saying; "the people back home ..", that he was probably thinking of a particular person in a particular circumstance that triggered him. I don't now his personal circumstances.
Mistakes can happen in live broadcasting. But the gushing re-tweets of what people think is a man crying over a sporting result will reach the team via their devices.
This semi-final win is not fitting of that reaction. Last time in 2015 was understandable, this time it's a bit stupid.
Hopefully the last 10 balls wind down is enough to get them back into a professional headspace.
Hopefully the last 10 bals

Strange timing for that article. I listen to TMS a bit and they too are really on board with the culture change that the English side has been on and "revolutionizing the ODI game as we know it"... and it all seems a bit too familiar.
2003 ABs?
That isn't a knock on either side. But it does seem like England have been crowned ahead of their coronation - even before the tournament - on the back of some undeniable front running performances and a lot of talk (and self fellation) about mindset and culture change. Obviously they have chosen to be a lot more aggressive with bat and ball, and there is a lot of talk about no recriminations after a rash shot or ugly dismissal... but I can't help but wonder if they suffer a setback early and can they dig in and graft out a win?
Which is where the 2003 AB comparison perhaps comes in. This side could not have been selected better or have better form coming into this tournament and disposed of their major foe with ease going into this fixture, but ultimately if they face early adversity there is little to tell us they aren't going to shit the bed like India under massive public pressure. The Ashes is pressure - but we have all screwed a project up over a month... it's another to screw it up in three hours (or a ball).

Haven’t read the article but didn’t the English ODI team look at us to inspire their new side and approach to playing the 50 over game?
