Have to say, despite the comms waxing lyrical about him, Dhoni fucked that chase.
He does bugger around a bit, and increasingly is leaving it too late...
That record they showed though with 47 wins when he is there at the end and what was it 1 or 2 losses, does show that he knows how to get it done.
Or he's a flat track bully and throws his wicket away before losing?

He put too much pressure on Jadeja. He really should have scored 10 or so more singles in his innings. Still, he has done it so many times in the past so you have to give him credit.
Taylor and Williamson struggled similarly - only Jadeja looked fluent.
I think they timed it almost perfectly. It was a long shot from the outset and they couldn't afford to lose a wicket at any point. If anything Jadeja made a poor call trying to take Boult on in his second last ball instead of waiting for Neesham/Ferguson.

But at 12rpo they needed to move so it was either going to come off or produce a wicket.

That really was an incredible game. A full match played over two days coming right down to the wire to book a place in the final, with the good guys prevailing. You couldn't write a better script than that.

I think Jimmy the Neesh was co-writing that

Bigger than 2015. We came back from the dead

On the Guardian feed:
“The more I see that Guptill throw,” says Siddharth Singh, “the more it like a finishing move from Mortal Kombat.”
When you consider the context - of the match, and the tournament he’s had - I reckon that’s the champagne moment of the World Cup so far.

I'm glad I checked this thread a 45 minutes ago and saw the game was close - I don't watch much cricket these days but good to see BC do well. But, my Indian-Aussie mate was smack talking about India the other night so I can't wait to rub it in his face tomorrow.

That has to be one of the biggest upsets in a WC semi final. Plucky little NZ in terrible form playing against the top side that has been smacking all comers to date.
Just. Epic.

For sure, they were hitting 2s with some regularity at that point, perhaps looking for a boundary along the ground or 2 was better. Hard to fault them though. It just seemed the idea was to take it deep and then have a big over against Neesham or Henry - it seemed a waste to lay all that foundation then hit out on Boult's 59th ball. Perhaps they needed to really go for it in Henry's final over (which was good) or to just wait until Boult was done.
Either way I don't think Dhoni batted poorly, he struggled to get it off the square against the spinners which put him in good company with Taylor and Williamson.

I quite like Virat.
Speaks well.

Kohli is all class. He must be seriously hurting right now.
