Getting pumped for this. We have runs on the board and the pitch won't have improved under the covers. There was seam early, plenty of spin, and a lot of balls were bouncing up unexpectedly, like the one that got Kane.

India bowled really well to exploit the conditions, and all things considered Kane and Ross did a good job getting us in a position to set a target, despite some of the criticism they copped. We could easily have been rolled for 100 odd if they didn't knuckle down.

That said, our bowlers will need to hit the right areas to make the most of it. Henry looking at you - no bloody half volleys please! And Santner needs to tighten right up to ensure we keep the pressure on.

    Bring it on!!

One more note: the start is going to be really important. If we can smack 30 or 40 runs then momentum will be with us. If India roll us cheaply then they'll be very confident.

Boult & Ferguson seem to be bandied about as the key craps.

Not in Manchester, and not a cricketer of note, but it looks a bloody good morning to be bowling here.

(is that the most irrelevant comment ever on TSF?)

Well if Henry is on form he might be dangerous too

@Hooroo Lord have mercy. New drinking game to get shitfaced in 5 mins: shot for every time she referred to her husband as Gup or Guppy.

Yup, he's a real wicket taker when he's in a good rhythm, gets plenty of movement off the pitch. Which is why he has such a good strike rate and average.

So one thing I'm unclear on is what happens once our innings finishes. Do they have a full lunch break, or is there a shortened change of innings? Seems weird to start for 15 minutes or whatever it takes and then bugger off for half an hour.

Probably not unlike the second day of a test if a team is 9 down. I imagine any break will be minimal

Nicholls being interviewed....interesting to hear only 2 totals of 250+ have been chased down in the tournament.

I'd say in the interests of wanting to get India over the 20 over mark so it's seen as a fair game, they would be against a long innings break.

Both - a short innings break, then lunch at the normal time.

We're running well between the wickets but we really need a boundary or three.

As far as Taylor run outs go, that's one of the better ones
