Become a bit hardened to it over the years ,
Aussies nearly always seem to have our number when it matters ,
Pretty much a mirror image of the ABs Wallabies scenario
And the Blackcaps can’t even pull the “cattle” card.
We have a good team but guys that need to perform are not.

Mitch Santner for one has escaped a shitload of criticism.

Really? When did you take a holiday from posting?

What I learnt is Australia are the #2 in this tournament and will lose to India in the final who are clearly the #1. Everyone else can go home now.

This was a limp wristed performance that we should make some changes for. 92 - 5 and you bowl your best bowlers out because 1 more wicket and you had them - Kane what are you doing? He is very conservative Captain. Bowlers allowed too many 4 balls in overs and released pressure - full or down leg. Chasing they needed to keep turning the strike over and play with intent. We aren’t good enough to sit back like this regardless of the pitch.
Agree completely. Against a team like Aus you need to throw caution to the wind. That's what sets Baz apart from other NZ captains; as soon as we got a sniff he went hell for leather. Didn't always pan out but it gave us a chance of beating some far more talented teams.
I've read Baz's autobiography and he says Hess was always trying to reign in his aggression, so I think between them they found a good balance. Kane/Stead is definitely a more conservative combination. If we make the semi I'd like to see us try something more out-of-the-box to try and unsettle our opponents a bit.

I guess he's probably scraped in with a few bits and pieces here and there which sums up his career and he'll be pleased Guptill, Munro and Latham are around to hog the negative headlines too.

I stayed up for the is game and I watched through the night from start through to futile finish.
Aside from the obvious highlight of Boults Last over(which had he bowled one more Yorker would have been a double hattrick) the best thing that happened was Michael Slater making fat jokes at Ian Smith’s expense and then Smithy ripping him a new one live on air. Then suddenly silence and a comms change.
If he wasn’t already on his last legs as a comms man Slater is now.

You can't blame Slats for stating the blatantly obvious.

He's no where near as bad as some of the others.

oh no, he's plenty bad. The quintessential yappy puppy douchebag, wittering on about his playing days and other irrelevant, matey "blokey" bullshit instead of commenting on the game. A concentrated version of the fuckwittery that the Ch9 team descended in to, and were rightfully shitcanned for.
Possibly the worst commentator at the tournament. You may not like him, but i'll take Nas' monotone insight over Slats' histrionics any day of the fucking week.

When I referred to the others I meant Aussies past and present.
....and I refuse to believe he’s worse than Hussein or Nichols.
He’s probably better at fat shaming than them
-
Nasser gives far better insight than Slats ever has.

Baz had minimal success against Australia in all formats, especially relative to Flem and Taylor.
In the same way that historically having a lead bower as captain I think having 50% of your expected batting production as skipper has its issues too, especially for someone who is self effacing like Kane. McCullum had the benefit of taking a batting role he was overqualified for and declining the gloves.

Yeah but for a guy for who allegedly locked himself in a toilet before getting kicked off a couple of months ago and tattooed their wrong test number on himself you are somewhat relying on the good graces of others to not call you on your own shit.

I haven’t heard any of these stories. Sounds like I need to do some more googling
-
@raznomore really? Good to hear. No need to be a dick about smithies state of play.

@Paekakboyz bro it was so uncomfortable but must watch TV lol
