Generally speaking, finals rugby rarely gives the fans this so called expansive rugby that everyone desires. We get glimpses of it, but itβs more defensive pressured rugby.
Iβll watch with great interest, but with one eye on @Jaguares4real reaction if the Brumbies get up π

Nah Not feeling that
Test Matches are largely mealiness IMO
Too many teams play each other too often
Los Pumas don't have the playing pool of other nations so need to prioritise accordingly Add to that a diabolical travel itinerary & there's a need to be pragmatic
TRC matters
June Test matches & EOYT to Europe are a distinct 2nd priority for Pumas
Los Pumas have a track record of delivering spectacular results in RWC
As long as that continues I can live with mediocre to crap results in "Test Matches" outside of TRC
8 wins & 29 losses in games post RWC 2015 is terrible & that includes 4 wins over Tier 2 nations - Japan Georgia & Italy

Ok so to be the best in the world a team needs to play less Rugby. Gotcha.

I understand where you are coming from with all your points and have highlighted the two I don't necessarily agree with.
TEst matches will never be meaningless. Some may be more meaningful than others, but none are really meaningless.
And spectacular isn't the right word. I would say in 2 world cups they have outperformed. Which is 25%, so I don't think your track record comment is overly accurate. Having said that, their demolition of Ireland in 2015 was probably my match of the tournament. I'd say that game was spectacular.
I will certainly give them the credit they deserve for improvement since joining TRC. Although 7 of 8 wooden spoons doesn't give off that. Was surprised to read that as I've felt they've been a nice addition.

If that's what you got from my last reply, then you're probably wasting your time reading
Possibly. It's also a struggle trying to remember all the "stunning" results that Argentina have delivered during the World Cup.
Also 7 out of 8 wooden spoons in TRC puts things in perspective a bit too don't you think ?
-
@KiwiMurph was only Scotland....
Argies generally have the wood on the French in RWCs
For all the piss and bluster, a strong Argies is fantastic for world rugby, hopefully the Jaguares can transform Super form into International form now.

@MN5 scoring a last minute try to beat Scotland in RWC 2011 that effectively knocked Scotland out of the tournament was pretty stunning.....
Whatever. It was only fucken Scotland.

You can look at the results at the last 3 RWC's to jog your memory considering the lack of resources Los Pumas had........
I understand this is a kiwi rugby forum so the workings of ARG rugby might be alien to many
Don't really care about Wooden Spoon in TRC when the team was firstly getting used to the comp and the travel plus Jaguares joining SR
Alot of changes + bad management =
I'll look to the future now ARG rugby has some stability & good coaching

Beating France in the opening game of RWC 2007 which led to some game in Cardiff.
Knocking out the favoured Ireland in 2015 by cutting them apart with some fantastic tries.

Fair point.
Failing to make it out of the group stages on four occasions isn't flash though.

Funny how you "forgot" the 2007 and 2015 World Cup I wonder why
At least you can see how Jaguares can potentially transform Super Rugby & bring it back to its glory days of strength vs strength
With AUS rugby being a show & SA rugby being decimated by a weak rand + quotas as well as bad coaching & governance
NZ rugby is also likely to decline as well
Highlanders in 2020 will essentially be a Mitre Cup full of journeymen plus A Smith Iaone & Coltman + Blues remaining a basket case
Mickey mouse league in Japan threatens to extract copious amounts of NZ talent
Jaguares offers a chance for a team to emerge with a stable of young emerging talent with Int'l quality throughout team & best atmosphere of any Super Rugby ground
TV time is good for AUS/NZ market

And for good measure dusting up the French for a 2nd time in 3rd/4th playoff in 2007
I should have made it clear when I meant last 3 world cups as they're the ones I've watched & freshest in minds of fans under 30

Goes both ways. You've conveniently forgotten Argentinas efforts in WCs between 1987-1995.

You're comparing apples to oranges
Amateur era very different to nowadays/recent times
Plus I had no interest or recollection of rugby then
