AFL 2019

While we are talking about AFL media hysteria, the Ben Stratton pinching reaction is getting a bit overdone as well.
He's a bit of a pest, and obviously the pinching stuff is taking the niggle a bit too far. But again from some of the media you would think he's a war criminal.
There's always plenty of pushing and shoving and general niggle that goes on off-the-ball, so this isn't a radical departure from that, IMO.
He will likely get a week off, but not much more. The foot stomp was far worse I reckon.

@barbarian there is a part of me that doesn't even really think it is a week. But it is such a bitch move, and they have to do something now that all alternatives for retribution have been removed.
I think the foot stamp is about the same level. Another bitch move. Deserves a week for all that crap. And from the club captain too.
Have to give Fantasia respect for not retaliating, and then looking past it after the game. Not sure i would have shaken his hand afterwards, i would have fed it to him for the result. And the fact i kicked 2 goals.

I think that's the perfect punishment. Smash him when he has the ball, win the game and maybe look him in the eyes as you walk past him in the handshake line.
Kudos to him for leaving it on the field.

@Rancid-Schnitzel
The thread has nicely moved on. Leave it at that. -

If you're going to pinch a player repeatedly then you deserve a suspension. What kind of a man pinches another man? Poofter. If you can't retaliate then suspension is surely on the only option.

Stratton gets two weeks, a week for each bullshit act i guess.
I can live with that.
-
10 weeks for betting on games you're involved in? Can't work out if that's light or right.
-
@ACT-Crusader finally something is going right today

Haha.
Went to the game. Took ACT Jnr to his first footy game. Left at 3/4 time...

Port beat Geelong. Solid win.
-
@booboo crows put up a fight but weren't really a match at Geelong.
Score review system is so fucked.

Was that last night? Would usually have made a token effort to check in.
Had that down as a loss anyway.

It was wet, windy and cold in Melbourne today and the Eagles just got over the Hawks at the G. Importantly Nic Nat got through the game unscathed.
-
@ACT-Crusader it was a pretty good watch, in a scrappy shitfight kind of way
-
Carn the Lions!!! @shark the Dees gave it a nudge in an entertaining game, if a bit loose.
Hipwood steadied us when we kicked a thousand behinds and no goals. 5th!! 9 wins!
-
Some footage of a robust chat at 3/4 time between to Dees teammates.

bit of a weird weekend
Essendon beat GWS, who really battle in Melbourne, which means i am comfortably writing them off for September.
North Melbourne continue their resurgence since the coaching change, absolutely belting Collingwood.
Port, a week after beating the Cats, lose at home to the Bulldogs
And Freo are up 30 points over a shit Carlton side who have also lost their best players, and get run down.Still pretty confident that the Cats and West Coast will be 1 and 2 come the end of the season. But the rest of the top 4, and then 5-8 could be any number of teams. Even fucking St Kilda in 14th are only a win outside the 8 (although their percentage is appalling). 12 wins might be enough to get you finals this year, but you are going to need a decent % to sneak in.
