QF 3: Jaguares v Chiefs
-
@MrDenmore I think it was because it took Weber some time to get back to full form/fitness after that long time away from the game due to that horrible injury. Last year, Weber just wasn't that good. Not sure why they picked TTT, because he didn't really shine last year either. I think they hoped they found a big talent that they could develop into an AB quality halfback, but that has been disappointing.

Well played Jags. Well deserved.
-
@MrDenmore Yeah he was the shining light, has had a superb season.

Yup, chiefs had it in the middle period, but lack of composure and silly penalties forced by just defence meant jags deserved winners.
Oh and having tits for hands didn't help
-
@Machpants yeah Chiefs handling was shocking, big work on in the off season.
-
Jaguares definitely deserved their win; their defence was great. However, you can't really say they outplayed the Chiefs when basically the Chiefs outplayed themselves by making so many errors.
And now, we'll have to wait who'll get to travel to Buenos Aires. Sharks or Brumbies. You'd have to say, the Jags have a good chance to reach the final, regardless of who they meet in the semis.

Respect to the Haguaries, that was impressive. But the Chiefs had that. How shit was the lineout.
-
My initial thoughts..
Congratulations to the Jaguaries..great for their fans and probably the compOn the Chiefs..they will look back on this game as a missed opportunity, some of their best players decided to leave their hands at home, it was a little like watching the Blues in the 2nd half with all the handling errors..
To me that game was there for the taking ,but with a shoddy lineout means you hand the opposition more ball which then brings indiscipline..
Best of the Chiefs I thought were ALB,Alaimalo and Debreczini while he was on, says something when your best 3 are backs..
Thought the set piece scrum was superb but as mention the hookers could not hit the side of a barn from 5 metres today..Even as a Blues supporter I do have respect for the Chiefs as despite all the injuries, they have kept themselves in the fight towards the finals..plenty of ticker in this team despite this mornings result..
Just a shame the early experiment of playing DMac at first five backfired ,I have since heard there was some All Black coaches influence in that selection which if I were a chiefs supporter that would piss me off no end.
Also a real shame Jack Debreczini was out for most of the season because we have seen what he bought to the 10 jersey once given an opportunity..
Gee if the Chiefs donβt re sign him , I personally would have him ahead of Otere Black every day of the week and twice on a Sunday ..
Hold you head up chiefs supporters..under the circumstances not a bad season. -
Based on the pre-match talking up by that Jag fan, Chiefs musta played outta thier skins to be so close...
Seriously though, well done Jags, also kept my multi alive.
Bummer for the Brumbies having to get on that big bird to BA.

Jaguares were okay in the game but did enough to win & deserved to win
Chiefs were nullified in the 2nd half minus a good 5 min spell near Jagaures goaline
This was why I was so confident they would win
Jaguares have 2nd best Points differential in the 2nd half in Super Rugby
Today they won 13-7 in 2nd halfChiefs apart from their scrums and set piece attacks off them were really poor overall
In general play they struggled to challenge Jaguares D
I counted FOURTEEN handling errors from Chiefs
Most of them forced by line speed in defence Most unlike a NZ side
Still game was in doubt for a while
Chiefs best players were their Back 3 and Debrizieni
You can;t win knockout games like that
Finally Jaguares crowd was
