@sparky still won't change anything. That will mean the Jaguares go into the Semis as top dogs based on the fact they won Q1.

No it won't, they'd play winner of canes or Highlanders winner in NZ

@Canes4life It would mean that the Canes won't have to beat the Crusaders because the Crusaders would be out of the competition.

    Example
    Quarters

    Crusaders vs 8. Jaguares
    Brumbies vs 7. Bulls
    Sharks vs 6. Rebels
    Hurricanes vs 5. Highlanders
    Semis:

Hurricanes Vs jaguars - winner qf1 Vs qf4 at highest ladders ground
Brumbies Vs sharks - winner qf2 Vs qf3 at highest ladders ground

Previous to last year it would've been

Brumbies Vs jaguars - highest ladder Vs lowest ladder
Sharks Vs canes - 2nd highest ladders Vs 3rd highest ladder

@Machpants right, so the only chance of us hosting a Semi is if the Saders lose?

You can see the reasoning with the jags, in the new system they book tickets for both canes and Highlanders. Previous system they'd have to book tickets to Those placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th quarter finalist, cos if they won that's where they could possibly play next

Yeah they changed that a couple of years back and all the teams agreed because of the logistical ease.

The result (who play who in the QF and SF, and where) is the same, but this is the correct format of the finals:

The question is with the movement overseas is there enough talent in NZ coming through to fill the holes we seem to have not a lot coming through at
    Tight Head Prop
    Tall locks
    No.6s
First Five behind Barrett, Mounga maybe Ioane
Looking at the u /20s not a lot there
M10 is going to be very interesting as a recruiting tool for SR

@Chris 6 doesn't look too bad with Jacobson and Papali'i looking like real prospects there. Robinson is another one.

Frizell also looked pretty good when he was starting for the Highlanders, but he's now getting little game time again.

@Stargazer yeah my QF numbering was incorrect (I was aware), but I just stuck with what was initially posted to try and decrease confusion. Resultant games are the same

@Chris not overly tall by Locking standards but Walker-Leawere at 1.97m and 122kg isn't small and has already shown at the raw age of 22 that he can mix it with the best. Was really impressed by his work rate against the Blues on Saturday. Our best forward behind Ardie atm.

@Canes4life both playing 6 very well, yet seem to play quite different roles in thier teams.

Blues seem to like using Robinson wide, often stationed on the wing, whereas the games I have seen of Jacobson he has played a bit tighter.
