Maybe we could go over to Argentina and target there props sacrilege I know but they seem to be able to scrum maybe a couple few a year or 2 for the young brigade to learn off.
Donโt rate Eves at all neither JTA or even May or maybe we can raid the Saders academy ๐ -
Might not be the tallest lock but he is well spoken: https://www.radiosport.co.nz/on-air/darcy-and-goran/audio/james-blackwell-on-the-hurricanes-recent-win-over-the-rebels/

Interesting, he played for HOBM last week down here in Welly.
-
@Canes4life Wow that is a quick transfer then. Wondser why people change clubs during the season, especially if they are living in the town where they played club rugby last week.
I understand one other club in particular down here are sticklers for everything going by the rule book and are bound to be on the lookout if he suddenly reappears for HOBM. I understand that club cited a player off a video of a recent club match. It was noted that one of their own players pulled off three neck rolls but they did not bring that to their judiciaries attention. Those in glass houses should not be throwing stones. -
Is there a reason why Fletcher Smith is playing club rugby in Chch tomorrow with Geoff Cridge?

Yes.
-
@Crazy-Horse Hahaha no I just find it a bit strange as they both aren't Canterbury players (or are they now)

@Chris said in Hurricanes 2019 Discussion:
Both have Canterbury connections of course
Smith went to CBHS and Cridge originally from the area interesting they are not playing Club Rugby in their franchise regions. all the Crusader players not in the 23 or touring group play in Crusader regions.More accurately, Smith got poached from Nelson College by CBHS!

@Chris-B yeah letโs not get pickey ๐all for the greater cause CRUSADERS
And the Ta$man rise my 2nd fav M10 team by the way have come to power because they are working closely with the Crusaders and Canterbury to spread our talent and recruitment throughout our region so we can keep strong -
It sounds like Coles and Evans will be on the plane to South Africa but might not be quite ready for the Jaguares this week.
Will three games be enough for them to ready themselves for playoff football? Who knows, it will be a big boost having them back in our pack though.
-
@Canes4life 3 games will be enough for Coles IMO, he's that experienced. But Evans? I don't know
-
I will be interested to see whether or not Plumtree decides to keep some of his big guns in NZ when the rest of the squad heads to S.A. - assuming they get maximum points against the Jaguares this Friday and whether that is enough to seal 4th position. It will also mean we obviously concede any chance of chasing the Crusaders, unless our backups produce stunners against the Lions & Sharks. The positive is we don't risk injuries to the likes of TJ, Beaudy, Jordie, Laumape, Fifita, Walker-Leawere, Aumua, Proctor & Ardie and it will give them three weeks to freshen up before the Blues game. This could also have the opposite affect and these guys could become rusty with lack of game minutes.
This will also allow guys like Bedwell-Curtis, Umaga-Jensen, Rayasi, Cridge etc the chance to put their hand up for consistent selection.
Barring injuries, I would like to see this 23 get a run in S.A:- Smith 2. Coles 3. Fidow 4. Cridge 5. Leaupepe 6. Bedwell-Curtis 7. Kirifi 8. Evans 9. Judd 10. Smith 11. Rayasi 12. Umaga-Jensen 13. B Proctor 14. Goosen 15. Marshall
Reserves: 16. Riccitelli 17. Armstrong 18. Toomaga-Allen 19. Mitchell 20. Blackwell 21. Henwood 22. Christie 23. Lam
- Smith 2. Coles 3. Fidow 4. Cridge 5. Leaupepe 6. Bedwell-Curtis 7. Kirifi 8. Evans 9. Judd 10. Smith 11. Rayasi 12. Umaga-Jensen 13. B Proctor 14. Goosen 15. Marshall
-
@Canes4life Forget Billy Proctor. He's in the NZU20 squad & I doubt he'll play for the Canes before the JWC.
-
@Stargazer fixed 13. Goosen 14. Lam 23. Toala.
