@Stargazer get your pesky hands off him Highlanders.
-
@Canes4life Well, if the Canes don't offer him a (development) contract ...
I doubt he'll see any/much game time for the Landers, but it will be a good experience training with them. It's expecially great because of that combo with Fakatava that will continue in the Mitre 10 Cup season.
-
@Higgins Yeah, that's exactly what the missus and I concluded, last night (I saw a post from McC on instagram that he was in Dunedin and we hoped/thought that he might have received the call-up from the Highlanders). Only one sentence in the Hawke's Bay Today article about the weekend's club rugby confirmed the call-up. Weird that they didn't discuss it further.

@Stargazer did you watch the Jaguares? I'm thinking of finding a replay to look at - but if it's an error riddled mess then probably not worth it!
Edit: asking if anyone has seen it and recommends it as a watch
Sorry, forgot to answer. I have only seen the highlights, so I don't know whether the whole game is worth watching. I think I'll record the replay on Sky Sport 1 tomorrow morning at 11.25am and watch it later, if I can find the time. I think that is the only replay; the rest seems to be highlights only.

From Yealden:
Random Super Rugby stat of the day:
- In the first four games this season (Blues, Hurricanes, Reds & Chiefs) the Crusaders have outscored their opposition 79-17 in the first half, but were outscored in the second half 67-62 of those same fixtures
- In their last four games (Waratahs, Hurricanes, Brumbies & Highlanders) the Crusaders have been outscored 40-31 in the first half, but have outscored their opposition in the second half 92-19 😲
That's all ... as you were 🤓

Fark, now the Reds roll the guppies 14-21 as the topsy Turvey SA conference rolls on...giving me 1/3 picks this weekend now

Everyone look at the tipping superstar bragging. I'm 0-3.

Bloody good competition this year. Not many games you know the result before kick off (unless the Crusaders are at home).

Pretty sad to see two NZ teams at the bottom of the table - Sunwolves are almost a non team and are mostly Kiwi anyway!
But then when you look at the points difference from 5th ~ 14th is only one bonus win 5 pointer - it's as close as it's ever been.
2nd and 3rd are only 2 and 1 points ahead of that, too
Saders > daylight > canes> the rest > wolves pretty much sums it up. Saders +121 points differential!

Seriously? Read in second place? Wouldn't that tell you your data model needs some serious work?
-
Only 7 from crusaders? Needs to be 10
-
@antipodean the big thing is the 75% weighting to historical data
-
@Nepia Yes, it is.
As has been discussed in another thread before, that Rugbypass rating system is totally useless.
This is their top 10 of Super Rugby first five-eighths and a few others in the ranking. You can immediately see that there's something badly wrong with it:
1 Mo'unga
2 BB
3 Pollard
4 Brett Cameron
5 Jackson G-B
6 Foley
7 du Preez
8 Mitch Hunt
9 Marty Banks
10 Domingo Miotti (Jaguares)
31 Hayden Parker
33 Beaudein WaakaCameron has played 87 minutes of SR, and 6 minutes last year.
JG-B has played 48 minutes this year, 86 minutes last year, and we know he is seriously shit.
There's no way that these two players have been more influential than some of their lower ranked colleagues.Miotti has played 78 minutes of SR. He made his debut this year and yes, played very well, but seriously, a higher rating than guys like Quade Cooper, Leali'ifano, Jean-Luc du Plessis and Hayden Parker?
And Hayden Parker is only rated 31st (out of a total of 48 first five-eighths)?
Beaudein Waaka has played zero SR and is in the rating?
Well, I guess it's a positive they have finally removed TJ Va'a ...
I had a quick look at other positions, and they aren't any better.
