AR Inclusion Policy
1.6 "There is no place for homophobia or any form of
discrimination in our game and our actions and words both on and off the field must
reflect this."1.7" as the governing body of Rugby Union
in Australia, to make a stand to eradicate discrimination in all forms, including
harassment and bullying toward gay, lesbian and bisexual people, individually and
collectively with other sports codes."4.4 "Rugby AU is committed to doing more to positively promote a culture of respect and
inclusion for gay, lesbian and bisexual participants, rather than just challenging
negative behaviours like homophobia"If that's their policy then they should never have signed him.

Folau’s twitter feed has a lot of guys kissing each other in it at the moment
Which is the right approach IMO. Loud condemnation and much mockery.
That will help vulnerable people more than banning his right to have an unpopular opinion. Let them see his opinions are in the minority these days.

I'm not, no. However if Joe Karam had come out and said something similar when I was younger I would have thought the same thing.
I grew up while Michael Jones was a top All Black, I did not feel like a sinner for playing rugby on Sundays.
edit: This is obviously a facetious statement but I think we do minorities of all types (including young homosexuals) by trying to ostracize our society into a place where there is absolutely no ignorant or prejudiced opinions. They should not be welcomed or celebrated, but trying to run every person out of town who has an opinion that is one standard deviation outside the mainstream.
I think you also do minorities a disservice thinking that they can't tolerate someone holding (misguided) opinions and values they may not share.
I remember MJ said he loved God more than his wife when she was sitting right next to him on an interview many years ago. I found that somewhat odd.

I kinda don't get it. I couldn't give two shits where Folau thinks I'm going after I die.
That's probably because you're not a vulnerable young (PI) boy/girl from a Christian family, who sees Folau as a role model, and struggles with his/her sexual orientation or gender identity (and/or with coming out of the closet).
Neither are you .
I’d imagine the overwhelming negative reaction to his comments probably means a fair bit to them too.

I bet Folau is Brian Tamakis favourite Rugby player ever.
Brian is tithing himself all the way into the depths of hell.
But, I can save him as well!

Israel will be pretty lonely in Heaven...how exactly does heaven work...I assume Heaven and Paradise are one in the same, so if he is in heaven with all these suicide bombers who go for thier 50 virgins...how do they both get to go to the same place, and what are thier intentions with the virgins?
Me so confuse

Good point. If the rest of us who are also going to hell according to the Word of the Izzie can shrug it off and call him out for being a piston wristed gibbon maybe gays can too? They are actually thicker skinned and more resilient than some people think.

@taniwharugby It's pretty simple, Old Toby has released an explainer vid

Izzy might not shoot up gatherings of people but he is an extremist.
Thankfully most aren't.
My ex in laws are Christians and absolutely abhor Tamaki and his bullshit, I'm seeing them this weekend for my sons birthday so will be sure to get their views on Izzy which I'm imagining will be much the same.

@Rancid-Schnitzel smoother skinned bro 😁😁

@NTA yeah thats what it sounds like, he wants out...if not back to NRL, back to AFL?
Not sure if he could cope with an end of season NRL or AFL Mad Monday
-
Most of the people he has targeted wouldn't believe in the concept of heaven and hell anyway. At the end of the day he is just a rugby player with some dumb ideas, should we really care? I could possibly qualify for HELL under his guidelines but I am not going to change my lifestyle any time soon.

I would think they added a clause in his contract to deal with this type of behaviour.
We may be about to find out what that clause entailed.

We may be about to find out what that clause entailed.from what I have been hearing in media, he certainly did have a clause around his social media...which makes you think one of two things:
1 he is incredibly stupid
2 he is incredibly stupid to use this as a way to get out of his current contract -
I'd be more inclined to think #1 than #2. He's literally just signed a new contract, and has never appeared to want out of Australian rugby. Coming into a World Cup with no other options... it would be strange timing if that's his aim.
I just think he's a simpleton who has surrounded himself with morons.
