@antipodean Oh I agree, red card all day. Flatman said the same but in his opinion such an occurrence shouldn't warrant a red - ie the law says yes but he thinks in this instance that was a bit soft.
-
@Catogrande what is he watching? I haven't watched again but on first watch that was basically a flying shoulder at the side of the head, on an angle to wreck the neck. He's usually pretty onto it, but I'd hate to play Flatman rugby.

Halaholo pens long-term deal (Cardiff Blues)
“He qualifies for Wales in the autumn and is looking forward to a massive off-season to take himself to the next level and put himself in the frame for selection.
-
@Stargazer That's a shame. I was hoping he'd turn out for Tonga but never mind.

Johnny McNicholl signs new contract to extend stay with Scarlets
The 28-year-old qualifies for Six Nations champions Wales on residency in December.
Another Welsh club that explicitly mentions this is their media release. Is this just useless info, or is Wales really interested in players like Halaholo and McNichol?

Hadleigh Parkes was nominated for player of the Championship.

Always looking for Test players.
Halaholo has been a consistent performer for Cardiff. Put him in a better set up who knows?
Much like Parkes.

Pisses me off that they irresponsibly spend money they don't have on SH players, rather than sorting their shit out with academy players. Like Exeter. And then they complain about the salary cap being too low 'we want to be in bigger debt!'
Then they, and the French clubs, fuck up the international calendar with their quest for a 11.5 month season

@Machpants Interestingly Exeter Chiefs have had to release a couple of high profile players due to the salary cap. Santiago Cordero the Puma is off to France. Unsurprisingly.
-
Glasgow Warriors: Rennie commits until 2020
-
@Catogrande Yeah but they are living within their means, and not using 45 million write offs to sort our debt and dodgy housing/company deals to get around the cap!

Probably the place to post this. Dan Robson, the Wasps and England 9 is out for three months with DVT. Add this on to Youngs also being out for the rest of the season and Eddie's RWC plans are coming undone by his lack of depth planning at 9. Care and Spencer I guess are the next cabs off the rank.

Billy Vunipola in a hot water for agreeing with Israel Folau. His agent, Eddie Jones and the RFU won't be happy.

Saracens appear to be trying to sweep this one under the carpet:
