3 quick reasons backing the ordinary bowling line up appraisal?
Got home after a night out and was extremely pissed. I think I thought I was posting in the mid 2000s. It's my only explanation cos I seriously don't remember writing that.
I got the batting part right at least....
Well at least your not stuck in the mid 90s anymore. Progress.
Unlike Australia's ODI totals

I think I love kohli. That fluffybunny cares. Rarely do you see someone that pissed off with themselves for getting out.
Dhoni better find his touch now, he's been a bit shit so far tonight
Jesse Ryder was fucken furious when he got out for 201 against India as I recall. I thought that showed good character.....
Unfortunately he was so furious he hit the bottle and never even got close to those heights again.

It'd be interesting to know if the vastly smaller grounds and crowds they'll get here will be a little underwhelming for India and perhaps even performance inhibiting after playing in the big stadiums in Australia with a shitload of Indians (and fuck all Aussies) in the stands.
-
Two set batsmen, they'll coast home from here.
-
Pissed it in. Dhoni with another pacing masterclass backed by a run a ball 50 from jadhav
Australian sport is fucked

India paying $1.69 at the TAB. NZ is paying $2.18.
I think that's pretty decent money for us. Since the last CWC we've played 35 ODIs at home and won 27 of them.
A couple of early wickets against India to get past Rohit, Dhawan, and Kohli and we're well on the way.
Over the series, I think Guptill and Munro getting us away to good starts will be important. I've got plenty of faith in Kane and Rossco to get us to decent scores, but getting us to winning scores will be much easier if they can come in with momentum, rather than having to rebuild a shaky start.
Us to win the series.

No mention of TNGOAT Henry Nicholls?
Harsh.

@Chris-B said in Black Caps v India:
@MN5 Not sure Henry will get a start today.
Him or Colin to bat at 6? (Though if Henry plays I'd bat him at 5 and list Tom Latham at 6).
Imagine how much AB fans would lose their shit if they didn't know who was starting on the day.
-
@Chris-B India's missing its best bowler, and its 1st choice all-rounder who bats #6, but still think they are more likely to make minced kabobs out of the black sheep.
I wish there was a 3 test tour somewhere in here instead of just hit and giggle fest. But I guess the NZ board decided to prioritize LOI cricket and the $$$ bonanza instead.
-
@newsjunkie I believe the lack of tests was dictated by the BCCI.
-
yep, plus the start time at 3pm for a better viewing for Indian audiences. David White said they negotiated the $$ for this tour about 1.5-2 years ago, which was luckily during our upward trend in form so we got a pretty good deal by all accounts. It does suck we aren't playing them in any tests, but with the WC around the corner snaking 5 ODI's versus the best team in the world isn't all bad.
Picking 3-2 to us and really hoping we can start out strong while they are getting a handle on conditions etc.
Guess a few (most) of our guys will also be thinking about this being a perfect IPL audition too! even if it is ODI's rather than 20/20.

Uh, you believe wrong. Home board controls scheduling, touring board only controls availability timeframe.
-
@newsjunkie Yeah - I'd be less bullish if your guys had Bumrah, especially.
But we were competitive against you in India a year ago, when you had Bumrah and Pandya, so I reckon at home we've got a pretty reasonable chance!
However, the game is not played on paper...
