@Yeahtheboys Just picking the maximum attacking potential team. Wainui will probably start on the wing.

Reckon the Blues may regret letting Manu go for an aging Nonu. Sure Nonu is premium quality, but how motivated will he really be? Whereas young gun Manu was really starting to forge a handy partnership with TJ Faiane at Auckland. Be interesting to see this young fella Manu grow and kick on with the likes of ALB (Likewise I'll be keeping a weather eye on Faiane). I'm looking forward to Version 2.0 of this Chiefs backline immensely.

Not sure if he would have been directly competing with Nonu for a spot but it was a terrible mistake from Umaga. He played well for the Blues Dev side, then played well for the real side as a winger before his great NPC season.
There is no excuse for the Blues not knowing how good he was.

Will he kick on at the Chiefs? He'll be 26 at the end of next SR season and he's born in Samoa. I wouldn't be surprised to see him become available for Samoa because its a RWC year. That might limit how long he stays in super rugby.

Tiaan Falcon has just had surgery after rupturing his Achilles Tendon at training, seems like he'll be out for the year. I noticed Luteru Laulala training with the squad so he might be the injury replacement.

Bad run of injuries for that guy. Hopefully that'll be the last for a while.

@Tim It's the last year of his contract for the Chiefs and he might be out for the season so not sure if he'll be resigned or not.

@Higgins Maybe the Chiefs will sign McClutchie ... The Canes will probably fail to sign him because they're hoping for a Wellington player to inherit BB's jersey when he eventually leaves.

Sam McNicol is also training with the Chiefs. Not sure what to think of that after the reports that NZR is holding him back until this years M10 Cup because of his concussion problems.

Chiefs give update on injured All Black Sam Cane

Chiefs give update on injured All Black Sam Cane

Cane suffered a broken neck last October during the All Blacks' 32-30 win over the Springboks in Pretoria.

Looks like no Cane for SR, so maybe straight into RC or even RWC???

@Machpants Man I hope he's fit for the RWC because as good a season as the 7ft giant had he still doesn't bring that hard edge that Cane has.
