Hurricanes 2019 Discussion

@Canes4life can I ask a serious question please?
How old are you?

I think Sam Cane is a superb player. I wish him a swift and safe recovery back from his broken neck.
I agree with @Canes4life's basic point even if he puts it poorly. Ardie Savea was awesome in the back end of this year. If he stays fit and keep improving, he will be the best back row forward in New Zealand in 2019.

He'd have to continue improving a lot to overtake a fit Sam Cane. I say that as someone suitably impressed with the quality of Ardie's play in the absence of Sam.

The question is whether or not Sam Cane can make a full recovery. That injury looked pretty nasty and it may take him 5 or 6 games to get going again, that is if he even makes it back next year. Having both of them firing by the time the World Cup comes around is only a bonus and Ardie will probably take that impact player role with Cane more suited as a starter.

Hurricanes are sitting at 5158 members sold so far for 2019, does anyone know how that figure stacks up with other franchises around the country?

@Canes4life Sam Canes Chiefs have about 7000. Those fans sure love a quality openside

@Yeahtheboys except you will probably be left watching Karpik instead.

Who is the young kid behind Judd? (on the right)

Can't be 100% sure but it does look like a young guy by the name of Callum Harkin who has been playing at the Wellington Football Club for the last couple of seasons. People may recall watching him play at first five (but also equally adept at halfback) for the Wellington team at the Jock Hobbs Memorial Tournament in Taupo this year. Originally out of St. Pats Silverstream and has also spent time at the Ulster Academy in Northern Ireland. Could this be the latest ploy in Wellington's attempts to keep hot shot HB players out in the cold?
