Right, I'll start the hexing via commentary 😁 nice to see BJ hit 3000 runs. He's fashioned a good record! Somerville is looking solid, although a few went past the bat in that last over.

Your curse combined with the commentator for Somerville!

Remember, at the last test here, 153 and 249 was enough to win it for NZ. Just enough - but enough 🙂

... and since I'm an anorak, the last three games before then

Pakistan won with 282 and 400
Sri Lanka won with 419 and 138
Pakistan won with 452 and 227

all won by the team winning the toss and batting first

Trent has been watching Timmy bat too often. All out for 274.

Somerville might not have scored many runs but he hung in there and allowed Watling to accumulate.

Great start with a wicket in Boult's first over. Southee is a very good slip fielder.

Yeah that was a great catch. No questions about it at all after the replay. Great to have them on the hop from the get go.

274 is competitive batting first, especially when Boult gets an early wicket before lunch. Comon lads!

Good hand with the bat by Somerville.

That top order Raval/Taylor/Nicholls collapse could easily cost us the series. Another hundred runs from those guys and we'd be in a commanding position.

Given the way the Windies have slumped in world cricket - especially, in my view, as technology, facilities and basically money have talked louder over the past 30 years - Pakistan has done very well to remain a competitive force.

There's always room for Wagner, he is all guts. He will tear himself up trying to get wickets for the team

look, i get it, we all love a battler, but Southee over Wagner in the 3rd test of a series played on dead pitches does kind of make sense.

(i would have played him over Colin).

CDG will probably play a star hand now you said that but I agree. Wagner over Colin. When things are stagnant you need a guy who can stir things up

Did anyone watch much of the last 2 sessions?

I saw Somerville's first 2 overs and called it a night. There was some turn there. Looking at the scorecard both spinners were economical but did they look like getting any wickets?

Nope. Patel didn't look as menacing as the first game. Sommerville gets it through too fast, not enough flight and doesn't rip it as much as the Pakisatanis do
