Has Hansen gone stale?

2003 was fucking Carlos' fault. Leon wasn't even supposed to playing, let alone doing the goalkicking. BUT...
Who injured Tana? Carlos!
Who was supposed to do the kicking but turned out to be a worse goalkicker than me? Carlos!
Who threw a wild cut out pass to Mortlock?.....
Is fault, Carlos!
Who set up the only try the ABs scored in the semi final? Carlos.

Jesus - how have we got to this depressing topic.
On the plus side, that was really the last hurrah of the Australians' golden era.
Score since then at a rough count is 36-7, with two draws!
This is going to turn in to a week where we finally unload all the demons that have been haunting us all these years. The Fern and the ABs, freshening up for a renewed assault on 2019
The only reason we didn't win 2007 was the bullshit citing/suspension of Lauaki that was rightly tipped over, but too late to bring him in to the side. He plays that quarter, we win.

Based on this display?

@antipodean I don't need to watch that video, i remember it well.
But that was 08 wasn't it?
2007 at the World Cup he was playing bloody well, and was still a weapon off the bench. We wanted to play him, but couldn't (even the coaches admitted it), and bringing his game off the bench would have helped enormously.

We scored two tries but only one was allowed. Just before the intercept:
again, I'm not watching that, but from memory that was a fucking try, all fucking day!! That's given and we win by 20

@chris-b ah yes Reuben Thorne...he comes into the Canterbury coaching team and nek minit they lose a final....
To be fair, they probably would have won if they'd just had Joe Moody....
Take that, Hansen!!! Karma's a bitch - she's pulling Aura's hair!

@mariner4life Ben Blair learns and gets that!

if you are even remotely suggesting that Blair is picked over AB legend Mils Muliaina then you and I can no longer converse.

@mariner4life Ben Atiga learns and gets that!

Literally nothing went right for him that day. One where you just want the ground to open up and swallow you.
His form in Super Rugby was amazeballs.

@chris-b Yeah, but Merts was dropped in 2003 because by that stage his pre-game warm-up included visits to the Pie Factory and the brewery. Talk about fat, by 2003 he had a triple chin. Rugby Union's own version of Mr Kerosote.
Deans and Cueball had a young fella Dan Carter in their squad who turned out to to be a not bad first five. They chose to leave him sitting on the bench. I blaming Deans and Cueball for that one.
-
@mariner4life At the time I suggested he be played on the wing due to Carlos' shonky goalkicking!

that's even more retarded than MacDonald at centre (and didn't Leon miss 2 penalties?).
-
@mariner4life He wouldn't have if Benny had been taking the kicks!
