Japan vs All Blacks

That one-handed touchdown by Laumape was Akira-like in its lack of respect.
Fuck him.
Last game in black surely ...
-
@booboo I think he's been brought into the ABs squad too early and should have been given time to develop in SR first, like most other players. I've no doubt he'll be one of the contenders for both the RWC and the post-RWC squad. He's a puppy. Let him grow (not in height though).

Yet another utter mysterious ruling sees a try that was clearly forced against Patrick Tuipolotu's chest awarded miles after the tackled player should have released it.
Actually in-goal you can hold the ball, dive on it and do pretty much anything you can't so in field.

Is that Robbie Deans giving some comments?
Yes.
Why? I don't know. He us just slow to articulate. Probably good analysis but too slow to say it on tele.
-
Got to be happy with that from this team.
tries from Japan can be put down to our mistakes and not poor d. We played way to hectic in our 22 and didn't execute exits which gave up possession in first half. Interesting because stats say we had no line-breaks conceded at half, only in back end of game when it opened up.
As for reserves I'll pass judgement when they play a proper test, by the time they came on game was all over the place but they'll learn from it.
I know this may seem strange to some but the guy I thought was strong was Whitelock, carried hard, cleaned and tackled, thought he was outstanding. -

Richie might be better than Beauden. Can't make my mind up.
Richie needs to carve up some Tier 1 nation's before we come to that conclusion. Making every post a winner so far and pushing Beauden hard though. Good that Beauden finally has some competition.

I'm pretty confused about the refs penalties for not releasing
Quoted for relevance

Piss taking now.
Not sure why people are stressing so much about the defence. Most of these guys will probably never start another test.
Bollocks

I have never been fully convinced by Bridge, keep having flashbacks to Scott Hamilton, but he's taking his chance with both hands here.
Also quoted for relevance! And the fact this reflects my (changing) opinion of George

Leave Jordie in NZ and take bridge for the rest of the tour
I think Jordie has great potential, I wouldn't be cutting him for the fun. I'd keep him in the group and work on his confidence. Wouldn't at all surprise if in 12 months time JB has been a key player for the ABs.
I'd be ditching NMS though, he's past it and probably off to Toulon anyway. He'll always have 2015, and for that we will be eternally grateful.
Agree with para 1
Re para 2: thought NMS showed he still had some go about him

Entertaining game. Some awesome tries from both sides**. Is TTT actually Aaron Smith's clone?** Mo'unga, Laumape and North also very impressive. I can't see NMS playing for the ABs again, such a shame. Naholo and Barrett were a little off unlike NMS I don't think its terminal.
A few scratchy passes. Needs to cut those out
-
Can't decide if gurning is big in Japan, or he's auditioning for Worzel Gummidge

Good for the All Blacks to embrace diversity and to keep Vaea Fifita on the park for 80 minutes. It shows lazy people can be All Blacks too.
Fafita is trans?

@machpants said in Japan vs All Blacks:
Had there ever been so few comments after an ABs test?
I agree with both (edit the two before act) above, but thought TTT was poor for most of the first half - his passes inaccurate. Ginger boy seemed much faster getting the ball out.
Ref was an utter disgrace
Jordie needs a season with the canes to sort himself out
Has the obligatory ab pakeha Canterbury ten even played super rugby? Part of a small group with more ab time than super time, which means he'll crash and burn for the rest of his career if he follows the pattern.
England are toast, we should play mostly these second stringers, to make it fair. Another week together will help the defence too 😉
Mmm. Am a fan of T-cube but he sprayed his passes tonight
