Going to the bench late in the game for experience just got a lot harder..

Yeah, Richie to play 77 minutes.
But some starters are as green as the bench options, like Ta’avao, Papali'i, TTT and Proctor.

Certainly a possibility to lose this one, what result do you guys reckon?

I thoguht it looked a decent side - not strong, but possibly more of an issue that they only met each ohter a few days ago

I had a feeling they might look to play Ofa at LH.

Will be pretty interesting to see how he gets on there. I don't recall him there since he became a decent scrummager.

In any case I'm pleased, because I really wanted to see Tyrel Lomax get some time, rather than RON. Lomax gave Moody plenty to think about in the Mako/Cantab semifinal.

I'll tell y'all what though - if this game is tight at the 60 minute mark, we're in some trouble!

Edit: Japan only paying $21 now!

@nzzp yeah that's my thoughts, the blossoms have had a game together and this team is a real mish mash, with no experienced backstop. A few Jordie special brain fart type events, and they'll struggle to get back in it imo

Went OK against the Lions for the Blues last year. Can't remember him playing Loosehead since then though.

    Pretty tough on Bryn Hall.

Drummond possibly getting the nod because he played M10 Cup with Cameron?

@machpants dont reckon he'll have another of those proportions!

I reckon this side will win it comfortably, green for sure, but plenty of talent.

has to be last chance saloon for NMS.

Naholo should be spewing he's been left behind with the dirty dirties. I expect a goddamn volcanic response.

He's only played 12 tests. I thought it was heaps more than that.

Hemopo looks well short in every sense of the word to be taking on the big ( again in every sense of the word ) boys as an international lock. Thank goodness it's only Japan.

( I wonder if any bok fans posted stuff like this in 2015 ? )

Based on last week's game they could roll out a lock with a very Japanese name (Wimpie van der Walt) who is only 1.88 m. That's shorter than the 4 AB props playing.

I'm taking you haven't seen him play. Got himself noticed by laying into absolutely everything against the Lions. Haven't noticed height ever being a problem for him - he's your workhorse type lock in the Thorn mould.

Anyone know the relative strength of the Japanese side? I know they are weak but gees its been a long time since I've seen such an unknown AB side.

Quite like the side, awesome for Papali'i and Proctor.

As B team as that loose trio is, it looks very well balanced.

Yep. On paper looks like a good side. As mentioned above only meeting on the flight up might be a bit of an issue.
Which of the coaches stayed in Japan?

@snowy All of them I believe. Only Nick Gill was going with the advanced party.

    Awesome. Looking forward to this.

Has that "could the midweek team lose to Neath or Ulster' kind of feel to it from the touring days, except its a Saturday.

Exciting times to see how these guys go whether they deserve to be there or not. Maybe I'll put a lazy 20 on Japan haha.
