I'm happy with six weeks because he's an idiot who keeps doing that over and over again and he's only lucky he doesn't connect every time. Maybe he'll learn his lesson now.

@stargazer you have kinda backed up what I was alluding to

I would be surprised if there are more than 3 people on here that read all the decisions, as most people, like me would simply read the brief (started at 6, increased by 2 because of priors and discounted by 2 because he felt bad) therefore, I do feel it is SANZARs job to change peoples perceptions of inconsistencies, not to mention like you say, many would read a 'legal' decision and not understand it anyway.

I see that RC from the Sunwolves game was not overturned either, and copped a ban.

Ardie Savea and Jordie Barrett have re-signed with NZR and the Hurricanes, both through to the end of the 2019 season.

But why one year only? Especially Jordie?

JB is waiting for Tana to leave the Blues.
JB to be the saviour of the Blues for 2020.

@mimic Haha, I've heard another one today: Jordie only accepting a contract until the end of 2019, because that's when Beauden leaves for Europe; when that happens, Jordie wants to play in the same team as his other brother and will go back to Chch to join the Crusaders.

"He'll do what's best for the team; that's the mark of the man. He'd love to be able to carry on and play the rest of the season but, if he's not right, he'll have to pull out and we'll go with the others," Plumtree said of loose forward Shields on Monday.

"Reed [Prinsep] has been going great and we've got Gareth as well, so we've got some good players in that position and Brad knows that."

And then there's Goosen, whose participation at centre would allow the Hurricanes to leave Jordie Barrett at fullback. If he's unable to pass his return to play protocols, then it's likely Barrett will go to 13, with Nehe Milner-Skudder at fullback, Julian Savea and Ben Lam on the wings and someone drafted onto the subs' bench.

"Wes is trucking along pretty and we're hoping by Thursday-Friday he will have gone through the protocols and be able to take a place in the starting 23," said Plumtree.

Which is slightly at odds with the preferred method of not investing in guys who might not to be right by the weekend.

"With Brad there's an exception because of the fact he's the captain and we will give Brad time," Plumtree said.

"Not sure what's going to happen with Wes. Obviously with a head injury it's slightly different, so what part Wes plays in training this week we'll have to wait and see."

    Is he 12?

Who bases their career on where their brother works? I can understand being closer to family, but that would mean staying with the Hurricanes (or Chiefs).

Told ya! James Marshall is returning to the Hurricanes for the 2019 season. He'll be a good back-up for BB.

The Hurricanes have also re-signed Alex Fidow (2019) and Reed Prinsep (2020).

dont think anyone was disputing what was speculated, but that is pretty shit and once again shows NZR doesnt care about M10 Cup.

@taniwharugby Do you mean they should have found a back-up for BB in a Mitre 10 Cup team? Where do they have one available with the skills and experience of Marshall?

This signing doesn't exclude at all that Marshall will also play Mitre 10 Cup before and/or after the 2019 SR season. The media release just doesn't say anything about it, but that could be because he's still negotiating, or because it's not a "Canes province" where he's going to play, e.g. Ta$man?

@stargazer ah ok, so you are cool with NZR basically saying none of you other 10s out there are upto super rugby next year, so hard luck?

If he does sign in M10, then great, all a moot point, but if not, it is shit, he is not someone who has earnt the right to play off-shore and in Super rugby.

Are there any 10s in Mitre 10 Cup who are available, upto SR level and adequate as a back-up for BB? I reckon they are very hard to find.

Considering they have already signed a shit 10 from Mitre 10 Cup (JGB), who doesn't seem up to SR level as well as a young inexperienced one (TJ Va'a), who has been more injured than not, I can fully understand this signing, if only for one season, so they have more time to prepare a young one (Va'a or someone else) for the following season(s).

They failed to sign Falcon last year. Otere Black left and has signed with the Blues; Hunt with the Crusaders; Gatland with the Landers etc. I'm not sure who the Magpies back-up for Falcon is goint to be, but if it's McClutchie, he'll not be ready for SR. Not sure what the situation is in other Mitre 10 Cup teams, but good 10s are a rare species. Josh Ioane disappointed for the Highlanders last week. Te Rure is the only one I can think off, but why did he fail in Scotland?

@stargazer isnt that JGB & West next in line behind BB, meaning the next guy they sign is theoretically 3rd anyway, so more a development option, which is what M10 Cup is, or was seen as, the pathway to super rugby...more so that M10 Cup hasnt even kicked off and 1 less spot is taken, potentially by someone not playing M10 Cup.

@taniwharugby West is moving to France after this year's SR season, yes. Marshall will be 2nd, JGB will stay third and TJ Va'a (if they keep him/if he's staying) is 4th. If they hadn't signed Marshall, JGB would have become 2nd. No way, you'd want JGB as BB's back-up.
