They are by far the most dominant 3 teams in world football history. You would generally expect one of them to be there

Although I'm pretty sure no South American team has ever won a world cup hosted in Europe either.
France Belgium would have been a great final.

Brazil won in 1958 when the WC was in Sweden. That's the only time. A 17-yr old kid named Pele made a splash on the international stage.
France Belgium would have been a great final.

Sweden are basically defence + send long balls up field with nothing more than a faint hope. Fairly tedious. England nick a second goal and its all over.

England looked better against Belguim than Brazil did. Yet they get zero love.

Sweden's path to the finals saw them dispose of The Netherlands and Italy. Since then they've seen off Germany and a decent Swiss team.
I refuse to believe they're rubbish suddenly.

But I was told that the Swedes would be the ones working out a lacklustre England.
It will be interesting to see whether pundits backtrack on them or double down and just go for "they were lucky".
