Pretty sure it was 13
Goodhue at 12, Smith wing & Barrett fullback
This is an indication of what Hansen plans for R. Ioane and J. Barrett. The simple solution would have been to slot Barrett in midfield as a replacement for SBW. But it did not happen.
Hi Bones, does this make you change your mind ?Only in the TSF world that thinks JB can play anywhere in the backline just because.
I'd be pretty certain that injury scenarios are practised at trainings given that we now select the 23 based on impact rather than purely on cover.
They will have fiddled with scenarios and it looks like there was an organised plan based on what situation was happening on the field. Reiko, JB and BFA all moved around to different spots at different times. If someone had to cover deep for kicks it was usually JB and BFA. If we had the ball then two of the three would be up in the line with one running support depending on where they identified the opportunities.
I think we are seeing a new coaching take on using subs that is far more organised than just man for man change.

@crucial it certainty shifts around. Naholo has even slotted into the midfield during a test match following a substitution.
I think Ioane is only going to cover in emergencies rather than a strategic option there. I think they would’ve planned to have SBW and Goodhue play the 80 given both have had splinters this far in the series.

Hi Bones, does this make you change your mind ?About as much as TJ Perenara covering wing or DMac covering halfback. Fuck while we're at it, Kaino is a lock, right?

@jk Damn, I missed it again. Why does Sky never broadcast a replay of this programme? There are several replays of the Breakdown, but I can't find one single replay of 1014.
I know! I misssed the first couple minutes and searched for a replay but didn’t find grrr
Was very good

Did it have any bearing on the result, NO. They still would have lost by 40.
Yep - the whinging about the adversity suffered by the French - which basically amounted to an unlucky yellow card and a bit of ref shepherding - is way over the top.
On the back of those two events they suffered two defeats that would have been the heaviest in AB history if sustained by us.
You've got to be able to overcome a bit of adversity!

@jk
Thanks. I had watched the first show on sky and liked it, but had forgotten about it.Just watched the test 2 review above. Fucking brilliant, better than the first show I watched. Excellent analysis of back field defence and impact of playing with 14 men. Also very interesting comparison of how NZ play at the back compared to France (if they had 15).
Good work those guys. Making a very positive contribution.

Just reporting back as have now come out of hungover state.
Rugby was great. Didn't view the whole game and can over only a few MVP votes.
First off....the stag on the stag doo. He didn't know anything about the trip, got picked up thursday from auck flown to chch had a night out. Friday we had a pub crawl road trip to Dunedin (he thought it was to Q-town as he thought he got inside word from someone). When we got to Dunedin he was that gone he thought we were in Qtown.
MVP's of the Friday: 3 Points: Random Maori guy at the pub in Ashburton doing 'magic tricks' for everyone including smoking a dobbie with his nostril.
2 points: Akira Ioane: Loved shouting pretty much the whole bar (was out with Laumape....both proving great team culture before a game).
1: The girl we got kicked out for being too thirsty and walking up to everyone in our group and trying to get them to go home with her (literally her first words).Saturday: 10am beers followed by Hens party dancing lesson at stilitos for the stag and lappy after. Back to studentville for some backyard and drinking on the street then Octy and then rugby.
Stag did well with his '4 more years banner' Wallabies jersey and face painted jumping up anytime anyone scored.
MVP points: 3: The only hot stripper I think Dunedin has ever had
2: Goodhue and the other guys on debut still wearing their All Blacks Caps out in town (mention to him for looking like it was getting him a couple of birds)
1: Akira, again at the bar on Saturday buying big rounds. Recognised me off my face and chucked a drink my way. -
@magpie_in_aus But did you have breakfast with any?
