I think they plan to play beuadie 80 minutes each week ,
Much like they did with carter ,
Rolling the dice on dmac as cover , getting him experience at 10 to cover the emergency if it happens ,
But only comes on as a tactical replacement at 15

And get Jordie experience as first receiver, like Dagg and B.B. did from 15, and develop him too.

@kirwan Mo'unga too much of a step down? Not all. I guess you haven't seen much of him if you say that. Just lacking experience at test level, but he needs to get his test experience at some point, because he needs to be ready come RWC time.

3 - Taylor
2 - L. Whitelock
1 - J. Barrett -
And if beudan gets injured Richie starts , dmac stays on the bench

In very surprising news, BB has only kicked 4/9.
A tad harsh. They were all on the sideline. Should have nailed at least one of those though.
:::
Given they were pretty much all out there you would hope he’d adjust. He didn’t.
Yeah, it was ordinary, but it wasn't like last year when he was missing the easier ones. Jordies effort was a bit disappointing. He usually lands those.

He's a big step down, but, he's improved a lot and like you I'd like to see him at test level to see if he can make the step up. They've got him in camp now so are undoubtably working on the parts of his game he needs to focus on.

Forgot to have a verbal orgasm over Taylor. How good was he? Maybe no need for Coles anymore?

Seen him plenty, just don’t rate him. The fact the coaches are desperate to convert a fullback(maybe two) to ten show where he fits in the scheme of things.

He doesn't quite have Coles' running game but he is just world class in everything he does. He's a bloke that has worked tirelessly to maximise his talent and he (and the ABs) are reaping the benefits now.

Definitely need both, but there is no worry starting Taylor. That might have been his best game?

Yep. He was always solid, now he's on another level. Shit he was good.

@stargazer I’m with you Richie is class and will make step up no issue.
Put Perofeta behind that Crusaders pack he would look a different player. Vice Versa Mounga to the Blues.
He has a long way to go to erase that Lions performance, when he didn’t have his Super Rugby armchair ride - which he won’t have in Tests.

Good second half.
The yellow card thing has been covered. Not a good call. Cane lucky not to cop a card. French just gave up after the card though and deserved to get flogged. They didn't really threaten with the ball either.Taylor probably my MOTM. Jordie and Rieko not far behind.
Dmac and Laumape good off the bench. Dmac showed what he can do when he doesn't just run sideways. Still bombed that try near the end though. Had a support player inside unmarked.Biggest concerns were the back row and midfield.
Back tow were pretty anonymous. Very little go forward. Cane off his best but hasn't played for a while. Still can't understand why Akira wasn't picked.Crotty/ALB were ok once ALB stopped dropping it but Laumape showed how valuable a hard ball runner is. Would live to see Crotty/Goodhue start while SBW is out. Laumape can stay as the bench impact.

Cane deserved a yellow but Ofa was a shoulder to head, he'll get cited I think
Yeah i think ofa might be in a bit of trouble there. Unless they come up with some sort of mitigating circumstances like they did with Squire last week.

Interesting commentary thread - players' careers ended just before they make "player of the year" plays, hopeless to brilliant, zeroes to heroes.
I think Hansen will be pretty happy with that. Everything worked out pretty well. Fairly slick second half performance for what was the first test of the year.
Depending on injuries and citations, I think we'll see a pretty similar team for next week - maybe one change in the backline - and then maybe a few more changes in the third test.
-
I wonder if they might gove Taufua a nench spot next week instead of Ardie. I guess the third test is most likely.
Was a bit surprised they didn't give Fifita 10mins at lock given he was supposedly covering there in thos game. It wouldn't have given them much of an idea but at least it would start to paint a picture of whether or not he is capable.
