@rapido oh poor RFU. That's one less Range Rover.

They supply their staff with Hyundais. There is one that parks in our street every night inviting vandalism in the form of an ABs bumper sticker.

Photo, please, when you finally do it.

Not sure the England fans are huge buyers of the Shield idea...

In general I'd say you're right and we (speaks for whole of England) are not on board with this. Yeah it's within the rules but it's pretty stinky really. He's not English, if he comes over here to play I'd say the likelihood is be'll go back to NZ after his playing days are over/he's been tried and found wanting.

I have no problem with guys like the Vunipolas, Tuilagi, Teo and Hartley who are all pretty much assimilated into the Borg sorry I mean England. But guys like Shields who is likely to be parachuted in and Waldrom who is Kiwi through and through are just plain wrong.

Where is the Walrus in all of this? What the fuck has Stephen Jones got to say, or does it not matter because it doesn't involve the NZ rugby union engaging in what amounts to modern day slavery in the South Pacific Isles?

The walrus is keen on England taking Jason Woodward to South Africa.

That will cost them another Land Rover's worth their English Pounds. surely ....., surely?

I have always been superstitious about it. Don't want to tempt fate. I am still scarred from living in Australia in 2003.

Yeah, I was living in Melbourne 2003. Wearing All Blacks ties to work each day. Tempting fate like a big stupid fluffybunny. Monday after the semi... I sucked it up, wore an All Blacks tie to work.

@crucial that was a feral night in the end, pretty much all I recall was being woken up by the sun on Bondi beach, then stumbling into the middle of the road to halt a taxi. Bit like this:

    That's not vandalism. It's enhancement.

This seems to be the best place to post this.

In November 2017, Brandon Nansen was signed on a short-term (7 months) contract by Stade Francais as a "supplementary player". At the time, it seemed that he could be back in time for the 2018 Mitre 10 Cup, but it's now clear that he won't return to North Harbour. The Dragons have signed him on a 2-year contract.

Yes. It begs the question of HOW do you actually vandalise a Hyundai?

Actually it's worse than that, I hadn't taken that much notice of the make of car but realised walking past it last night that it is actually a Mitsubishi.

As someone who doesn't give a shit about 'coolness' when it comes to cars (boxes with 4 wheels and an engine to transport you from point A to point B ) is a Hyundai really cooler than a Mitsubishi?

I shared your sentiment - right up until I got a decent car. Not Hyundai or Mitsi

We have Hyundai Sonatas as our work cars. We thrash them, and the turbo has some get up and go, but shit they are crap for what we do with them. Even the indicator noise annoys the crap out of me.

Not really, they should have let the RU go to WR and ask for Shields release, proven that their interpretation of that sub clause is correct, egg on Eddie's face - then release him.

Gregor is talking himself in knots:

"NZR, in announcing their decision to release Shields, remained adamant they had a strong case to not do so"

"Across New Zealand there are significant numbers of dual-qualified players who may now find it easier to commit their international allegiance elsewhere in the middle of their Super Rugby contracts, knowing NZR, despite insistence otherwise, is powerless to stop them."

How does it go from NZR say they don;t have to release players to powerless to prevent it? God journos talk arse to stir shit.
