Chiefs v Blues

If any journalist blames the Blues players rather than the coach then they should be shot. Shitload of commitment from the players. What the fuck was the 2nd half game plan?
Really? I feel sorry for Akira but I can't say too many other players put their all in (that Faiane example was classic Blues).
-
That’s a very lucky win.
I missed the last 15 minutes, but it was pretty rough watching there. Chiefs are down to not-good-enoughs having to start, but the blues are the blues.
I thought Dmac went relatively well until he was injured.
If there was someone at the Chiefs who thought that shipping off Tamanivalu was ok, because Ngatai, I’d like to kick them in the balls. We lost SBW and Tamanivalu to keep a foodbill.
-
@african-monkey and to miss tackles?

@duluth agree,Parsons speaks of indiscipline,and the yellow card being the difference,No James,not having a strategy to get out of your own half was the big issue..,the high box kick was over used,what’s the definition of madness..?doing the same thing an expecting a different result..!
Jezz this frustrating...!,
Can’t wait for the Mitre 10 Cup to start. -
I’d hate to think what the score would have been without Akiras work in the forwards. He’s sparing Tanas blushes at the moment, no wonder the ‘Super Coach’ is running him into the ground for 80mins of every game.
Even managed some McCaw like cheating at the ruck for a turnover.

Can’t wait for the Mitre 10 Cup to start.So reckon that they're coached to box kick and then completely ignore where the ball is going? Pretty sure that wouldn't be the case, seems like laziness to me.

The ruck and kicking tactics had us making way more tackles than the Chiefs, and the players were fatigued. Amazed the score was so close, but that was down to this being a poor Chiefs team.

@hooroo Injured.
Cheers. I saw that part of the game but he looked pissed off so I was wondering if he was tactically subbed.
-
@stargazer That's not difficult. Sam Nock would be afraid to touch the ball in a womens game.
We might have bee able to use the ball in the 2nd half if Perofeta stayed at 10 but Umaga stuffed that up by playing a 6-2 bench forcing Gatland to play at 10 once Moala went off which led to a lot of kicking.
-
You could that result coming a mile off.
Chiefs did their best to stuff it but got there in the end.
Blues kicking game was bad. Stuck in their own half constantly and paid the price.
Much better ticker from the Blues but never really seriously looked like winning.
I cant get my head around those excusing the coach who is in year 3 with the Blues. What evidence is there that he should be excused from criticism?
Akira and Ruru the Blues standouts.
Duffie is awful now.

I don't get it though, why not try and retrieve the ball from the kick? It was certainly achievable. That's not going to be down to the coach.
Plus leads to less tackling...
