The Canes seem to have more problems with South African teams, than NZ teams.

Ihaia West is just a terrible first-five at this level. Completely not up to it.

@hydro11 He was involved in both Canes' tries. Made a try saving tackle before other Canes' players let them in. He's not that bad at all.

Sharks are missing a higher percentage of tackles though according to espn - they have just only had to make half as much.

No comment on JB's defence, or lack of it, for the Sharks first try?

@bovidae No, some prefer to blame West for everything.

He's been terrible. The 2nd and 3rd tries to the Sharks were scored after two terrible kicks from West. West is a massive reason why we have only had 26% territory and 36% possession. When the Sharks have kicked it has been accurate and a contest for possession. The Sharks have read the short kicks very well. West offers no direction.

@hydro11 He made a few bad kicks, but apart from that he's been fine. It's the ball handling and defence of his team mates that's letting them down.

Sharks and Hurricanes have made about the same amount of errors.

We start with our kick off and we are already back in our half.

Canes start the second half the same way most of the first half went - on the back foot.

How the fuck were the Sharks forwards not offside at that lineout - they can't advance until the catcher hits the ground or releases the ball
