I wish Cricinfo had live light meter readings.

Watling has saved us a couple of times with BMac before, hereโ€™s hoping he can do it again with Latham.

Here's hoping CdG can shelve his natural instincts for one more day to help BJ to save the game

124/4. if they can bat out a draw, I'll give these lower order boys massive kudos. God knows the top order has been rubbish this test.

If we save it the top order should be carrying all of the bags to the coach. At least they can make themselves useful that way

Latham is still in right? Does he have to carry bags if he carries bat?

    Well done Tommy and BJ.

As for the rest of you sorry bastards.... ๐Ÿ˜

Let's hope for a significant contribution from Mr. B.A.D. Light!

Big job ahead for sure but batting should get easier rather than harder. Even so, these two need to probably bat out the next session at least for us to have a chance.

Anyone have a break down of wickets per session for this test? It feels to me like the bulk have fallen in the morning session and the afternoons have been tougher going (especially in each of our first innings).

Weather forecast looks far too reasonable. Anyone got a giant sun shade that they aren't using at the moment?

What do you reckon? Nicholls and Jeet can carry a double load

FFS. Watling gone. CdG currently on 4 off 2 deliveries.

Thank goodness we've got Southee to come at #8 to occupy the crease.

How deflating! I was so pumped for today but have had the wind knocked out in two balls

Brilliant post on a couple of levels.

I'm wondering if this is a time to change the batting order. Perhaps Sodhi at 8, then toss a coin between Wagner and Southee for #9. Southee is the most talented with the bat, but I have a sense that the other two might be able to occupy longer. Unless we get Southee to hit the ball out of the park a few times and keep losing the ball to take up time till the light fails.

    Cricinfo comment:

"Can't remember a test with so many brain explosions. Taylor and Watling dismissals are the most jaw droppingly bone headed I have ever seen." Oh come now, I can think of a few to match those ...

Leach to de Grandhomme, 2 runs, crashed in the air, so close to point! That was a chance, albeit a low and fast one, bursts through the hands as the fielder falls to his left

Leach to de Grandhomme, no run, flashed in the air again! Hitting his way out of trouble on a full length outside off.

Leach to de Grandhomme, 2 runs, driven, and edged through the vacant gully! De Grandhomme needs to feel the might of bat on ball, and he's a living liability as a consequence. Gets away with this one

CdG auditioning for the Martin Sneddon role to Latham's Greatbach...
