@virgil patently all of the above Virg.
He's chosen to cheat, got caught, been judged, found guilty, punished severely and now has to serve his penance.
That's the system to its conclusion.
Time to cease laying the boots in innit?
Yep, stories over. Let's move on. Even the memes are getting crap.

Reality is that if warner had approached things the same way smith did and vice Versa, everybodies views and direction of bouts would be exactly the same due to preconceived thoughts.
The day a Dad gets abuse for carrying his sleeping 3 year old daughter off a plane is the day the world has lost the plot.
Those who abused him for that get a grip and take a look at yourself.

I hope this is just a case of too many shandies again MR.
Don't be such an utter fool. He didn't need to go through the throng of reporters carrying his kid. Fuck he didn't need to have his family with him at all. He did it deliberately to get sympathy. Are you seriously suggesting he had no option? Horseshit.

@rancid-schnitzel wow, you've been proper sucked in! Let me guess ... you now feel sorry for Smith and think he's a great bloke who just fucked up?
-
Not just us cruel and nasty ferners who think little of Warner’s actions the past few days, especially the joke of a media conference

@majorrage I don't follow cricket or it's player very closely at all, no preconceived thoughts here.
Wow.....so you comment on a sports forum without even watching. Who actually does That?

Something stronger than shandies me thinks.
How have I been sucked in genius? And no my thoughts on Smith haven't changed one bit. I actually found that cringe inducing. Nice touch adding pappa though.
But back on Warner. You seriously think he didn't use his kids to garner sympathy?
You talk about people being properly sucked in and then berate others for being mean to the poor poor dad who was just carrying his kid off the plane. The irony...

I disagree with you, therefore I'm drunk? A touch arrogant there, no?
None if you know what options were given to either. You are all just guessing. I wouldn't have s clue what options warner was given, but I'm sure if he was given a side door exit he would have taken it.
But I know this. Smiths exposure right from the police assisted walk through jo burg airport, to the professionally done presser with his dad on a stage looked like a professionally done and funded effort to garner sympathy. And it looked to me like it had the funding and backing of a lot of outlets, which I personally believe was Cricket Australia.
Warner had nothing in Joburg. I would guess thst he was asked if he wanted a press conference and declined (as is his right, especially after seeing what Smith dished out) and so was hung out to dry. Maybe he carried his daughter to say leave me the fuck alone without saying it? Maybe he had no choice - I don't know.
Both have done the same thing. Beendone for sanding a ball, been suspended, had press conference taking full responsibility without answering any of the questions the public want answers to, and bawled on stage.
And yet the public is loving one and abusing the other. Granted, a lot of that is because ones prior persona is very negative and that's fine.
But to me the whole thing looks like a stitch up
Job for Warner (which maybe he deserves - I, and all of you, don't know). -

If you had no idea then why abuse other posters for their statements. Hence my comments about you being drunk. Again.

Just on the actual cricket. AUS not doing so well without their two best batters. I wonder how quickly things will flip and there will be calls for the disgraced players to return. Probably in record time.
Had to chuckle about Renshaw. He's the latest QUEENSLANDER getting farked over by the evil blue cap brigade you see. Nice to see he stepped up.

he could front with mother teresa and the pope and it shouldnt make any difference to what he has done and what your opinion of him is
Um yes it would. Unless of course he was carrying his kid at the same time.
-
@rancid-schnitzel for what it's worth I don't drink.
But keep banging your drum if that's what works for you.
And look up abuse in the dictionary whilst at it.

When did you stop?
This is ridiculous. You abused other posters for their opinions. You couldn't back any of it up so now you're getting on your high horse.

The everlasting and grave psychological trauma for a 3 year old being carried through a partially full airport (way less commotion than Indian airports) to a taxi service outside the terminal, enroute to home, in Daddy's arms is being slightly overstated here I think

Yes because that's what has been argued by no one.

None of the above happened?
I'm not even sure what your debating now.
a. I abused nobody
b. Everybody has the same facts. Everything else Is open to interpretation. I've laid out what I view and why.
c. High horse? Irony? It's not me calling others drunk because I don't agree with them.
