Jeff horn had a tko win last night and sets up a welterweight mega fight with Terence Crawford in what in what is probably the premier weight division right now when it comes to depth and talent .

looks like its a done deal with them rumored to have met somewhere in the middle , 32 -33% for parker is the rumor ,

Cat was let out of the bag a bit earlier when Lucas brown announced his upcoming fight with Whyte ,

Brown is said to have signed his side of a contract to fight parker , and had to wait to see what he was doing first .

I wonder if the bigger sticking point was the rematch clause if JP wins. Reports are that AJ gets a rematch but at less than 50%

if joshua wins , no rematch for Joseph ,

its cya later thanks for the belt ,

i guess thats the big concern for the parker camp ,which is why they had to maximize his earnings , if he loses , how far he slides down the pecking order , does this ever come around again ?

I guess the nature of the loss may have something to say about that ,

A competitive loss should still have him in the mix, a humiliating loss may be a difficult one to recover from

Probaby a good time to lose as a HW as the division is quite weak currently so it's definitely possible to make a swift comeback. A few years down the line could be difficult however as there are some decent prospects coming through.

Plus, if your only defeat is to the champ, that still keeps you up the ranks enough that others may want to fight you to elbow you aside for a crack themselves.
There does seem to be a lot of inactive fighters in the HW divisions

He should always get fights with fighters there abouts ,

But to get back to the top of the tree and fight joshua again if he loses ,

I think his performance will have a bit to do with it , ie will the UK fight fans want to see it again ?

Win lose or draw , its important for his future to put up a good show IMO with the boxing world watching ,

also should he lose, might be a blessing in disguise if the wilder Joshua fight doesnt happen , may give him an another avenue to pursue

    Awesome!

Not so awesome are the Joshua being King of Steroids comments, while potentially on the money, Joseph is better than this

Apparently Graham Norton was taking the piss out of Parker and saying he doesn't look like a pro athlete? What da fuck?

He reminds me of the Jesse Ryder of boxing. Chubby but doesn't really hinder performance. I can see what Norts was saying

I can too but I don't think he's out of shape, I think it's a genetic thing. A guy like SBW gets into shape and has like 30 rippling abs, whereas Parker will never get that "ridiculously cut" look that other people can despite being super fit.

    Ryder was genuinely just fat.

Have they not seen Tyson Fury lately?

Parker looks in great shape to me, not a roided freak like Joshua.

Compared to what Tua looked like at certain times Parker looks very trim.

Parker is pretty rubbish at the old smack-talking, no more Mr. Niceguy outside the ring huh?

Also appears to have the usual media hype added in there as what Joseph said in the article wasn’t quite as direct at all

Joe has his Xmas weight onboard but nothing to worry about. Guess AJ is diff as he stays cut year round, rather than just leading into a fight. The roids comments aren't a good idea, but we are starting to get some good banter

Opening a can of worms with the steroids comments , the pie comments was an attempt at fun by a tv host ,

Steroid accusations is not a joke at all , that’s accusations of cheating , even if it’s true , you are getting into deep water going there .

Not smart , unless he is willing to talk more about it , every time a mic is put in front of him they are going to bait him on it
