Hame Faiva is playing for Treviso.
The number of Kiwis playing (or coaching) in Italy is interesting.
Benetton Treviso is coached by Kiwi Kieran Crowley since 2016.
Former Auckland, Northland and Blues player Dean Budd has been playing there since 2012 and has played for Italy at least 6 times.
Jayden Hayward joined the team in 2014 and now also has 3 caps for Italy.
Nasi Manu, Whetu Douglas, Marty Banks, Hame Faiva and Monty Ioane all arrived at the club in 2017.James Tucker joined Zebre in 2017.
Nearly as many as the number of Irish...
OโShea head coach Italy
Michael Bradley, head coach Zebre
Stephen Aboud - Development
Ian McKinley, flyhalf at Treviso and capped by OโShea
Ciaran Gaffney at Zebre
Rory Parata at Zebre -

Not a lot of love for loose head props is there?
Jeez Rory McIlroy sure knows how to waste his money. The salary bill at Ulster is way out of line given the shit return on their investments recently.

@mn5 easy to say when you have no shot at either...
To be fair he was probably in with a shout for Scotland until a year or so ago.
MN5? Doubt he'd get a run for Scots College U14C team let alone Scotland
Most of the fluffybunnies on here sound like they'd keel over walking a flight of stairs. I'd be a better shot than them.

I dare say most of us could get fit faster than you'd learn to catch, pass and tackle...

It's only Scotland. Those are optional extras.

Looks like you've missed your chance then, because they appear to be getting quite good at those now.
Even Wales are attempting to play 15 man rugby.
I'm looking forward to this year's 6N.

Yep they are looking very decent indeed. Dare I say it some good players can't even make the squad. Would be good to see Sean Maitland have a good tournament.

Maori fulla. Big and quick. Born in Tokoroa. Quade Coppers cuzzy ( literally, not as in 'chur cuz' ). Played for the Lions. About as Scottish as a Palm tree but we'll take him.

That's a blow.
And for me, it would cross a line. Would be no mature well that's life reaction from me.
Totally not cool to 'fuck us about' during a RWC cycle only to bail just 12 months beforehand.
What a waste of time.
No, I don't believe it (please .......)

@jaycee It's a loss to the ABs but more due to the rawness of the other options at 10 more than anything else.
I'm a big fan of Sopoaga but his 2017 was quietly a real drop in form from his 2015 peak. He had the ball in his hands right at the death of both Highlanders-Crusaders derbies with a chance to win both games and blew both of them with poor decisions/execution. He also had a poor game the one AB start that he got last year in Brisbane. Having said all that - a terrific player to watch in full flight and will be an enormous loss for the Highlanders.
It may only be a 1 year deal and he returns for the 2019 RWC but either way at least the ABs now know they have 2018 to get their other 10 options up to speed (Mounga, Dmac etc).
