I agree. However, rightly or wrongly, they are stuck with him. I suppose there could be a slight acceptance if he was a miles in front clear choice to start every game but he is unlikely to be that. If he is simply just a member of the squad there is very little to justify his inclusion and the money could be better used to develop a player that might be of use to NZ rugby at some level in the future.

Ardron would be taking a paycut to play for the Chiefs/BOP compared to his Ospreys contract.

DISCIPLINARY UPDATE – PATRICK TUIPULOTU DECISION

New Zealand lock, Patrick Tuipulotu,, appeared on Friday 17 November before an independent World Rugby Judicial Officer in Edinburgh having been cited by an independent World Rugby Citing Commissioner for alleged foul play (dangerous charging) in the match between France XV and New Zealand XV at Groupama Stadium in Lyon on Tuesday 14 November.

The Judicial Officer, Roger Morris (Wales) listened to representations by and on behalf of the player, viewed video footage of the incident and reviewed all of the other evidence.

He was not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that act an of foul play had been committed, and accordingly dismissed the citing complaint.

Patrick Tuipulotu is free to resume playing immediately.

All this weekend's results can be found in the first post of this thread.
Not in that post, but noteworthy, is that Uruguay beat Namibia 52 - 36 in Windhoek.

Highlights clip from the Romania v Samoa match. Great dramatic effect with that music and about 6 repeats of every kick, but it's awesome to see the joy of the Romanians at the end of the match. Celebrating like they've just won the World Cup!

For Fiji final try, I like the way Senioli realised he was running too flat a support line so dropped back and give himself depth. Result was a simple run in. NZ take note.

Highlights from Spain (27) v (37) Canada, numbers 20 and 21 in the world rankings, respectively. I hadn't realised, before I looked it up, that Spain was ranked higher than Canada (which even climbed 2 places by winning this test). When did that happen?

After the first (2017) leg of the Rugby Europe Championship (the tier below 6 Nations), Spain sits third on the table behind Romania and Georgia; although these two countries are in a better position to win a ticket to the RWC2019, Spain still has a small chance.

    Wow.

German rugby expansion stuck at a crossroads as players threaten to go on strike

More recent info is that an almost completely new squad has been called up to prepare for the test against Chile, including most of their sevens squad and its coach. 🤔

If you're looking for broadcast times & channels for this week's tests, you can check the updated list in the first post of this thread. If you're not in NZ, don't forget to check at the bottom of that first post.

And .... I have added this weekend's results to the chart.
The balance tips in favour of the SH this weekend, but only just. Some interesting results.

    Only one test to go!

Hmm. Japan certainly getting better with the RWC at home as an incentive. A win over the Boks and now France in the last few years. Belief must be building. They usually play an entertaining style too. I wasn't going to watch it but I will now.

Good win by Ireland today against Argentina. The Pumas much better in the second half with a couple of late tries to even up the scoreboard somewhat.

Man of the Match - Jacob Stockdale. And for me, player of the series. Himself and Andrew Conway have been the finds of the series. McCloskey, Aki and Farrell have got their stripes and added to the midfield stocks to join Henshaw and Ringrose. With the Scottish performances, the Six Nations should be tasty.

I was very impressed with Japan who were far better than the French. Matsushima and Mafi had huge games I thought.

Just watched the highlights of the France v Japan.
That last Japanese try should really have been converted which would have given them the win.
Really noticeable how stand offish the French were at the Japanese breakdowns, they were just fanning out the whole time.
