Future All Black coaches...

@taniwharugby personally I think the Gatland has zero chance. Deans & Robertson feels like a nice combo.
Its hard to fairly compare coaches - Henry & Hansen have have some all-time AB greats to work with. Gatland has some limited Welsh and has to play a style conducive to winning in the North, Deans had some rubbish Wallabies and some with big ego's.
I think look at the environments they can create as to pointers of capabilities... the AB's this year look a bit stifled, but mostly in recent past the good people make good AB's mantra is working well. Robertson seems to get the best out of his sides. Colin Cooper has Taranaki going well and got the Cane's up & running. Ireland w/ Joe Schmidt have started to believe more than ever (and the leprechaun bastards finally beat us in an exhibition match in Chicago - well played)
I just can't get my head around Foster as AB's coach.

Cotter no thanks. Gatland no thanks. Deans no thanks.
Schmidt/Plumtree. Worked a treat for Ireland. Plumtree is a great forwards coach. Could add in Robertson as another assistant depending on how the Crusaders continue.

Have absolutely no interest in Deans as a coach simply because he hasn't shown an ability (or appreciation) for how to coach as part of a group. He is still an old-school one man act.
It's going to be Foster unless Hansen holds on another 2 more years at which stage things get very interesting - Rennie, Schmidt, Cotter could all conceivably be back and everyone currently mooted is four years older.
I just hope Foster doesn't get it simply because he Hansen wants it to go that way. Ted wanted to hand it to Hansen, sure - but there were no other options. In 2019 there will certainly be options with better credentials than Foster in some respects. Succession and stability is important - but only to a point.

@bones plus Lam, White & SJK
And a comeback for Jed Rowlands.

Cheika is already on his fourth year with the Wallabies, might be a chance to poach him after 2019
That's the dream team that @Bones nearly got: Hammett, Cheika, Philpott with Mitchell as Team Manager.

what amazing jobs Hansen and Foster have. They must be thinking "one more match then we have 7 months off. On full pay. Just like last year. And the year before that. Sidle up the stands to snooze through a couple of Super Rugby games, potter around the garden, watch the telly, eat a few pies, then June rolls around and hello, the court of public opinion, who've been watching the entire Super Rugby season anyway, have pretty much picked the AB team for us. Doddle through June, bit rusty, have a bit of a run around, bit of work through August and September then hello, November again, cushy end of year junket up north, finest hotels, blah blah, fuck the rugby, we'll play any old how and call it 'rebuilding' or 'keeping the powder dry' and bobs yer uncle, season over, time for another 7 months at home parked up on the Lazyboy again"
Missed the NZRU sponsered Six Nations "scouting" trip they usually go on in Jan/Feb.
