@taniwharugby He only switched to tighthead a two years ago (and immediately played there for Auckland ...), so there's potential there.

Every time I see Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi's name I think of Triple-T, aka TTT, the office linebacker:
I always think of Triple J and twice the T. Which then makes me think of Fenella Bathfield. From some reason I'm not sure if I have them linked.
Maybe she was in their video? Or maybe her after school tv show was where I always saw that video?
Either way. Mmmmm. Fenella.

Does the team selected for the Canada game mean the lineup in Bordeaux v French Barbarians might be a bit second string?
Only two games for the Maori as far as I can see.
Will be heading to Bordeaux to drink some cheap vin rouge like Mouton Rothschild and soak up the atmosphere.
Rougerie is in the French Baabaas squad, must be a swansong for him surely, he's 37 years old.

That looks like a relatively weak Canadian team, with only a handful of front-liners. Shame that the likes of Van Der Merwe, Paris, Hearn, O'Leary, Sinclair, Trainor, Braid, Ilnicki, Carpenter etc missing. Is this because it is a week too early - before the international window?
-
@arhs Yes, that's exactly the reason! This is from their media release
Fridayβs fixture falls outside of the official World Rugby November test match window, making a number of international players unavailable to join the roster βWith injuries and players unavailable due to their professional commitments overseas weβre missing a number of starters, but that gives younger players an opportunity to gain international experience against a quality opposition in the Maori All Blacks,β added Mack.
Names unavailable due to injury or other commitments include: Matt Evans, Conor Trainor, Connor Braid, Admir Cejvanovic, Conor Desmond, Cole Keith, Gordon McRorie, Nickalas Blevins, Taylor Paris, Shane OβLeary and Jeff Hassler. Upon arrival in Tbilisi, Canadaβs roster could potentially be bolstered by the return of overseas professionals, including: Ciaran Hearn, Aaron Carpenter, DTH van der Merwe, Jake Ilnicki and Brett Beukeboom.

Josh Larsen handed a cap straight off.
