I'm sure the SH unions are shedding tears.
The 6N tends to have an historically highly conservative management, who tend to rest on their 6N laurels "world's oldest, best rugby tournament" bla bla bla.
The obvious first move would be to start the 6N a bit later when it's not so dreary and rainy in the NH...maybe financial reasons will finally get the 6N committee to take look at the whole tournament. Like should Italy really be guaranteed a spot year in year out etc?
I'd tend to think though that weaker Unions will only increase the power of the clubs in the north, although the British ones seem to rely in part on sugar daddies to survive.

Kieran Keane being a complete knob IMHO. No wonder NZRU didn't want a bar of him for a Super Rugby head coach job. I thought this sort of juvenile crap went with the Mitchell/Deans era. Poor advertisement for NZ coaches.
-
@billy-tell I've seen worse. What's he supposed to say, the team did dumb shit and given the game's just finished I haven't worked out why?
-
@billy-tell yeah seems to be something going on there between those two...although Keane seemed pretty sad. Odd he'd be such a difficult bugger just out of the blue.

Embarrassing but at least he is in good company. Quite a few good players have worn that egg on their faces over the years. Remember Cully's shocker?
Cully and Jonah same game v NSW

Yes

Based on this interview if Keane is the guy to get Connacht moving forward they are screwed.
Imagine Hansen giving an interview like that. It’s the coaches job to identify problems and if he needs video analysis before he can reply to media Qs it’s hardly reassuring.

Wow, so I thought that interview was going to be a lot worse going by these sorts of comments.
Keane actually gave quite a few good comments in amongst the few surly ones.
-
That's an astonishingly surly interview - Jeez! I know that Sky tend to do this perma upbeat schtick on their sports programming where presenters are relentlessly cheery and jovial but that sounds like a seriously pissed off coach who did not want to do an interview.
I'd be pissed too having watched his team throw away a hard fought match and finally getting ahead again in the closing minutes. Connacht are in a tough spot after their success in 15/16 and Keane is under pressure to turn things around. Getting 3rd spot in the conference for a chance at the playoffs is already looking a dream and even getting the best 4th place finish to qualify for Euro Champs Cup is not looking good.

Haha, how stupid can you be?
Wales and Ospreys hooker Scott Baldwin misses game after being bitten by a lion
Coach Steve Tandy had no sympathy for his player, suggesting Baldwin had ignored instruction and attempted to pet the animal. "There was an incident with a lion, but in fairness it was nothing to do with the lion," he said in a press conference, which was uploaded to YouTube. "He did bite Scott but when you put your hand in a fence where there is a lion, then you will get bitten. "It was pretty stupid on Scott's behalf and he is pretty lucky. It was a good environment and we were told how far back to stand. "I don't know what sort of wildlife show Scott has been watching where you can pat a lion on the head as if it's a kitten."

Perhaps he didn't want to be part of the first Welsh club team to get thrashed in SA.
Better to be bitten by a Lion than mauled by a Cheetah.
Nah, he's just dumb.

@tim From the video, it's pretty damning. Some (particularly English supporters) suggest at worst he only went for the scrum cap, but to believe that from the footage means you've never played rugby. You know where your hands are in relation to someone's face.
He's a dirty fluffybunny and should be banned for six months. I get the feeling he'll have two weeks off, at most.
-
@antipodean he's a knob...wasn't he the one that earnt the penalty for jumping into a tackle and then had to be restrained by his team mates?
-
@antipodean why is he even trying to rip the scrum cap off? That's weird.

Yeah, I'd guess to try and force a reaction. Last week Marler tore off Haskell's scrum cap (not in the same league as the Sinckler incident mind), Haskell reacted and got yellowed. Marler didn't even cop a penalty.

Pretty sure he was at the centre of the post game fracas after the second test too.
