All Blacks v BI Lions Test #3

ABs lost that far more than we scraped a draw.
Gatland luckiest bloke alive.
ABs carved us up but weren't accurate. Very NHesque.
Should have been a bigger margin than the 1st Test. -

Exhausted, and all I've done is sit on the sofa yelling at the tv and drinking beer
Amen to that!

Should have been a bigger margin than the 1st Test. That's what pressure does though. It's been a while since this All Black team faced a game like this and they didn't cope well.

ABs skills let them down for once. Should have won it in the first half.
Exactly. The commentators failed to call this for whatever reason. The amount of chances that we blew was ridiculous. Feels terrible to give away a drawn series to that lot. Not because they weren't boody brilliant, but their cynical play at line out and around the rucks really was annoying. And of course Gatland as well.

what happened after the 'accidental' not touching not catching off side?
Did we end up dropping it cos I dont remember all you see on the replay is ALB falling into space...shoulda played advantage or did we drop it again?

Should have been a bigger margin than the 1st Test.Yep, errors and penalties fucked us. You can't do that, not against goalkickers like Farrell and Halfpenny. Barrett needs to do so some serious work in that area if he's going to be the goalkicker.
-
All Blacks never got to grips with the rush/offside defence. Lost count of the times Barrett was left with no choice but to hit it up because there were a crowd of red shirts outside him. I think the disruption in the centres had a lot to do with it, plus the I ability of the replacements to execute. Can see now why Savea was left out earlier - just abysmal. Dagg also past it. And Barrett missed a couple of sitters, again, which would have proved the difference in the end. Lions didn't miss any, their defence was impregnable and they spoiled relentlessly. Oh, and the hand-wringing French referees were appalling

World rugby's biggest game advertisement in the fallow years between world cups and is influenced by an insecure refereeing system but the gin swillers will be reminding themselves "controversy lasts far longer in the advertiser's eye than a pure spectacle, and think of the clicks we'll get!"
Even the perpetrator knew he was offside playing at the ball!
Still our beloved team only really have themselves to blame
Taking nothing away from the Lions who will take more pride than us over the drawn series.
It was a great series and none of us predicted it thus.
one question though:
Did it feel lucky to draw that?
honest question from an unquestionably biased kiwi
edit: The question was aimed at Lions supporters (lest I lose my arrogance)

Shows how much we have missed Ben Smith not too mention Crotty
I'd agree with that. Still can't understand why Crotty was left out if he was running freely
I dunno about that. JB was great at the back taking the high balls..
I don't think Crotty or Smith would've helped with all the knock ons..

Like the fight game, don't leave it in the judges hands.
While a glib comment like that may sound witty there are numerous fights where boxers have been hit after the bell or nut shots have gone unpunished and heavily altered the fight.
So yes, don't leave it in the judges hands but if a referee allows a flurry of punches after the 7th round bell sounds which alters the fight - the response shouldn't be "you had 7 rounds to finish him, shut up and take it".
-
Nice to see HIAs are still a joke. Alun Wyn Jones was spark out from the Kaino challenge, yet allowed to return to the field.

I do have a strong feeling of relief...

They might have added some stability though when the pressure came on

Fucking disgrace. I thought it couldn't get any worse than last weeks deciding penalty but that was a complete farce.
Fully expect WR to stay completely silent.
You make a good point re: last week I don't know why the set piece off the lineout wasn't Dagg jumping into the defensive line?

Read and Warburton should have an arm wrestle to settle it.

I think it's fair to say , we are not quite there yet ,
Not with that team anyway
