    @mariner4life didn't think about that.

    But, part of the reason our Eden Park record is so good is that it was usually the venue for the tour finale, not the opener.

    @mariner4life The Lions also have already lost at Eden Park this tour (shamelessly finding a way to reference the Blues win over the Lions )

    @KiwiMurph Media should be all over that fact, add to the Eden Park hoodoo given a number of the Lions players will also have played on it for their home nations and lost too.

    I find it interesting Hansen is keeping pretty quiet this week, Gats would say he's worried.

    I see Mark Treason has written (I expect an awful one, as I don't read his tripe) opinion piece about how enough is enough, the ABs need to stop cheating...man, imagine if all teams pushed the boundaries like the ABs, chaos would no doubt ensue!

    You could almost say there's a certain "aura" about Eden Park.

    Thankfully Rugby Union hasn't gone the way of Championship Boxing.

    No need to shit talk your opponent to 'scare' them and sell seats.

    Hansen the smartest man in the room saying sweet FA

    he is not normally shy of having his sly digs though, although maybe what they want to point out or respond to might reveal part of the game plan.

    I really don't want to look for the article and give him a click but if you have already read it does he mention the Lions and their cheating/pushing boundaries as well? Running past the ruck, blockers in front of catchers, screaming out noises as the lineout throw is being made and the good old foot in front of the offside line?

    @Crucial did you not read my post 🙄 , I didn't read it, I just saw the headline. Sometimes Stuff do have his name next to it so I know not to click.

    For him to mention that, would require that he write something balanced, something I do not believe he is capable of.

    @dogmeat I read that, it was a good read. No coach, 30 odd flights, God knows how many games and I dread to think of the amount of beer that got drunk.

    @dogmeat Such a close series too. Bloody Don Clarke - with today's scoring we would have won. Conspiracy!

    This is an interesting read, I think: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/40335537

    Love that video. No doubt the 2017 version will be slick and sanitised

    Looking at Doddie Weir, sad to think of what he's now facing - MND is a bitch of a disease

    Doddie Weir is a legend, even for a Scotsman. Fine lock, shit number 8 ( which he regales people in hilarious detail apparently ) and brilliant after dinner speaker in obnoxious pants. Heartbreaking to hear the big fella isn't doing well.

    Does that mean we won that series twice to your once? I like the sound of that.

    Sean O'Brien: The Lions should have beaten the All Blacks "comfortably enough"

    When Leinster and Ireland star Sean O'Brien looks back at the summer's Lions tour, he believes that the British and Irish selection should have won the series and that the coaching panel made a number of mistakes.

    I recommend listening to the podcast, which includes comments on the O'Brien interview: http://www.offtheball.com/podcasts/Off_The_Ball/Rugby_on_Off_The_Ball/57613/WNR_Sean_OBrien_Lions_Prep__Leinster_in_South_Africa

    @rocky-rockbottom said in B&I Lions 2017:

    It’s all semantics now but he could, in theory, have a point. The Lions did seem to slightly cock it up. But you could argue, perhaps more convincingly, that NZ cocked it up even worse. And of course the frog-legged "we 'ave a deal" spermbird refs both cocked it up harder than a month-old strap-on baguette

    More to the point how the ARSE does the same AB team run up 57-0 vs SA a few months later? Were the Lions that good because obviously AB’s are not THAT shit. Confusing times. Either way, some of these foreigners need to realise that the only reason rugby exists is for NZer’s to revel in the All Blacks trampling the living fuck out of Johnny Foreigner en route to glory, satan, tea, biscuits, scones, groupies, airport bog roots and henceforth and forever-more, immortality. Fuck that stultifying thrill-free Lions rugby yawnfest, get out and run (tenet shot in the brains via glorious Lions counter attack running rugby tries but never mind that now)

    Jeez - can you copyright that as the Fern Official Response to the story? 100 upvotes from me.
