    His name is Fekitoa not Vaquita FFS and why does it matter how many of his family are left in the world?

    i really hope you were looking for that tongue in cheek emoji...

    No. I was too busy looking up when the World Wrestling Federation changed their logo to a panda and why they are concerned about an endangered rugby player

    @Crucial Good. You might need to dial down on the subtlety in future.

    Fake news. Malikai is one of 16 siblings, so I reckon if you add in cousins there must be plenty more than 30 Vaquitas left.

    No replacement will be named apparently, but if there were one

    Zebo?
    Earls?
    May?
    Brown?

    Earls was absolutely excellent for Ireland vs USA, the best I have ever seen him play in a green jersey.

    Anyone but Brown would be funny, just to see his reaction 🙂

    Drag Donal Lenihan to give the old "1971 Canterbury" speech. Won't really work (not that it did the first time) but seems like a move Gats would make.

    If you wanted a like for like replacement, how about Nick Abendanon?

    While not a bad call that would be admitting the first selections were wrong. So, unlikely.

    If you are doing French exiles, then David Strettle is fairly decent too.

    @Catogrande

    Yeah, its not a prediction. Just what I think they should do

    Ford at 10 and Farrell at 12. As you said it would be admitting the initial selection was wrong, it would be admitting the backs aren't converting enough opportunities and it would be copying Eddie Jones

    Gatland would never do any of that.

    British and Lions head coach Warren Gatland has called up Scotland duo Allan Dell (prop) and Finn Russell (fly-half) ahead of their Test series against New Zealand

    Dell and Russell’s call-ups come after Wales’ Cory Hill, Kristian Dacey, Gareth Davies and Tomas Francis joined the squad on Saturday afternoon following their Test against Tonga in Auckland on Friday.

    Russell the only one who adds anything to the overall squad.

    @pakman

    Russell and Davies are both there or there abouts, so fair enough (would rather Davies than Laidlaw any day). The rest are a joke. If geography is an issue and you always planned this, why not call up the best guys available 3 or 4 days earlier and give time to get over jet lag?

    Even if you limit yourself to Wales and Scotland, I'm not sure how Dacey and Hill got in ahead of Brown and Gray

    Word on the street is the Welsh boys trained with the Lions in Wales when a large number of the squad were still involved in club competitions.

    So know the system and calls etc.

    They're not the best Welsh players, Davies aside, because Wales have Samoa next weekend.

    They'll be ready to train tomorrow (Sunday), the Scots won't.

    And I also heard that Eddie said no players would leave the England camp until the Tests were done. So that rules out Launchbury and Ford. Even though they should have gone in the first place.

    @MiketheSnow

    You got a link to Eddie saying he wouldn't release England players until after the tests? Find that hard to believe, but happy to be proved wrong.

    Regardless of knowing the calls I reckon Launchbury would make a better fist of the midweek games than Hill. It's done now though so no point moaning, but Gatland better win a test or two, or this sort of thing is likely to be what's remembered.
