@Bones We were good, the scoreline flattered the Brumbies. We were a bit clueless at times on attack but that's to be expected with Bryn Gatland and Billy Guyton running around at 10 along with Pulu's up and down form. Our forwards were all over them which was pleasing.

@No-Quarter Maybe it's Umaga's plan to help out his old team 😉

Hard to believe the Brumbies are Conference leaders after that shocking display. They couldn't buy a try tonight and got the smacking they deserved.
But well done to the Blues, their scrambling D was very good. Nobody has mentioned Blake Gibson who I thought was on the money. Gibson, Akira and Luatua were the difference tonight. Having said that, a good shift put in by the entire pack as well.
However, I think that win throws up more questions than answers. They have to find another quality first five, with West and Francis out, Gatland just ain't gonna cut it.
SBW's form? Will he be selected for the ABs? Why leave Nanai out? Will they find another decent halfback? Guyton is terrible. Recruitment? Leadership?

Nanai did replace Collins today so perhaps there is hope. Also i think West will be very close to returning.

I know it's been done to death but I am getting really annoyed at Nanai not starting every game, he's such an exciting player. If he doesn't get a fair go he should come to the Canes and enjoy running off the Barrett brother's shoulders all the way into the All Blacks.

And who in the Canes squad should make way for Nanai? They have plenty of talent already in their backline. He'd struggle for game time there, too. Probably his best chance would be at the Highlanders with Osborne leaving.

He'd start ahead of Goosen and the aging Jane every day of the week. Or you can put Jordie into his rightful position of 12 and he starts at 15. Very easy to make room for a player of his ability, which is why it beggars belief that he doesn't start every game for the Blues.

Winning is what breeds expectation... been lean pickings the last few years for the Blues, especially overseas.

Even without Jane and Goosen, I don't see any starting spot for him at the Canes. Laumape and Proctor in the midfield and Aso on the right and JSavea on the left wing. NMS at full back and Jordie covering midfield and fullback. He'd be on the bench at best and waiting for injuries.

Slowed it down with the My Star. He scored.

Come on now if it went against your team or any NZ team playing an overseas team you would be saying no try.

I rate him ahead of both Aso and Laumape. Much more complete footballer. Agree to disagree I think...

With NMS' inevitable injuries and Savea's KFC addiction, he'll get heaps of time.

Speaking of flyhalves, looks like Gatland is another Noakes or Hobbs rather than another Carlos.

    Perception bias maybe.

But objectively try without a doubt

2 players I thought were rugby journeymen in 2016, have been a revelation in 2017

    Duffy
    Laumape

    Both with league backgrounds IIRC.

I reckon Duffy is now the next cab off the rank after (in no particular order) Savea, Dagg, Smith, NMS and Naholo. All this talk about Jordie Barrett, but Duffy has been pretty darn solid.

If you're going to add Duffie to that list, then you may as well add Vince Aso, George Bridge and Shaun Stevenson, too.
