@Tim I still think he should be considered. He has shown both in SR and for Counties this year that he has the biggest engine and work rate of them all, runs fast, and can play at 8 well. I wonder whether they'll have 3-day camps again in the weeks before the SR break. That would be a good opportunity to call up all these players and have a closer look at them in the AB environment.

I wonder whether Taufua has set his sights on being the AB super-sub option.

He played most, if not all, of the M10 Cup at 7 for Counties, where I don't recall him playing before. He's already an excellent 6 and a proficient 8 and I reckon the only thing that has him behind Squire and Dixon is his lack of height in the lineout. He's certainly got test match physicality.

But, if he can play all three loose forward roles competently and allow us to have a specialist lock on the bench then it gives us better options ie Barrett/Taufua might be > Squire/Savea.

Hopefully Razor will show a bit more imagination in his selections than Toddy - and vary things a bit more - and give Taufua some time at 7 and 8 for the Crusaders.

OK, so this could possibly be in the wrong thread as I don't think I ever want to see thee run flow in rugby.....

Are you not up with the gossip? Nuggets better half was in Paris with him.
I somehow don't think the dunnys at CDG will be seeing much action

What's Colin de Grandhomme got to do with this? 🙂

Well according to those dodgy selfies doing the rounds a while back Nugget could also be named "big man"

I had the cricket going in the other room yesterday and came out to see Tom and Jeet opening the NZ innings and poor old Tommy edged his first ball to slip and I thought he'd got his King Pair.

Luckily just the start of first innings highlights/replay and they were off for rain.

    That's awesome.

Fark Jordie is huge. He'll be a weapon and a half when he fills out.

How good was Kane before his concussion issues?

Can't remember but maybe Blues supporters on the Fern know.

Just wondering, the fifth Barrett brother, Blake, played with the Taranaki U19s in 2014 (see link below). So I guess he's older than Jordie and younger than Scott. Has he ever made the Taranaki NPC squad?

Kane Barrett didn't really look Super Rugby standard from the little we saw of him. Naholo didn't either in the same season so it's hard to tell whether he would have kicked on or not but from what I saw I doubt it. . Got red carded against the Chiefs in one of his outings.

It sucks being in a family with over achieving siblings, and you are the odd person out. I know that feeling well. The eldest Gallagher brother of the Oasis duo must also feel it every day.

How about Dean Waugh or Trevor Chappell.

Hadn't heard of Dean Waugh until you mentioned him, but yeah he must feel like a loser as well...lol.

Adam has played at least two tournaments for the All Blacks Sevens team (in 2015, I think, just before he left for France); so while he didn't play XVs in black, at least he has some black jerseys from 7s.

Did either of Jonas' brothers play rugby? I recall the older one looking like Jonah after his kidney problems.

In one of Sir Paddles' books he talked about his youngest brother who - when the Hadlee family were having their Saturday evening debrief with Sir Walter after club cricket - listening to brothers Barry, Dayle, Martin and Richard recount their tales of hundreds and Michelles - reported that he'd made 20. Except they discovered the next day he'd made a duck. Sir Paddles thought that he and Dayle probably wrecked that brother's career hammering him in backyard cricket - and shading him like a radish in a pine forest.

    I wouldn't be surprised!

Heard Smiley Barrett interviewed and he reckoned Blake Barrett was probably the toughest of his sons and his time would come.
