Just saw this slow-mo of the Cane high tackle on YouTube. At the time in the match I thought it was more of a head-clash and a penalty only was a fair call, but the second angle here looks really ugly.
I expect a citing for both Cane and Fekitoa.

I posted the video because it shows an angle that wasn't shown on TV (at least on my feed) and it changed my perception on what I thought was a borderline penalty to a pretty clear yellow at least.
And from your defensive reaction, I think you see it too.

Definitely above the shoulders, not particularly dangerous but should have been a penalty at least.
Not remotely in the same league as Cane or Fekitoa's though.
So what you're saying is that Sexton committed a foul in an attempt to stop a try from being scored. Which is a professional foul. Which is a penalty try and 10 minutes in the bin.
Only a penalty try if the try wasn't scored, only a professional foul if you view it as deliberate (which I don't think it was). Even so, a penalty should have been awarded and a YC wouldn't have been out of the realms of possibility, yes.
I'm disagreeing on intent.
Sexton aimed high and swung his arm at the head.
Lack of injury means it didn't get highlighted.
Fair enough, looked like Barrett dipped a bit to score the try to me but it's hard to judge intent. As I say, a yellow wouldn't have been disproportionate either way.

Disagree, the angle is mildy deceptive but it is pretty clear the shoulder doesn't touch his face, the impact to the head is the accidental head knock.
I'm starting to understand why the Aussies resort to brightly coloured arrows.
The video is shot at or below waist height and Cane is closer to the shot which makes him look slightly bigger. Better angles (you know, the ones shot from the professional camera crew) showed there was no contact. I'm honestly amazed you're trying to argue otherwise.

To expand on that, even if that shit angle was available to the refs why would they use it when other angles were able to clarify what happened? It's like if a try is scored and one angle shows a clear try, and another shows it looks short. They're not going to ignore the angle that shows the try and rule no try.

I spent the first half furious with Peyper, the first 20 of the second half furious at our own players discipline.
The A smith card was ridiculous, the reffing of the ruck turnovers was ridiculous. Realising this ABs should have changed their approach and contested more rucks, but then Peyper ....... When we did contest we got nothing or penalised for our troubles. It was very strange.
But. Ref blaming cry babying gets us no where. Need to learn from this and break the perception.
Irish pack are awesome.
Although I registered that both Henshaw and Sexton went off, didn't really think about them as a combo on the spine, and their attacking cohesiveness.
Very annoyed in real time with Barrett's dickheadery with trying to run that try too close to the posts. Although in hindsight should have been a 10 point try or opposition down to 14, could have accidentally paid off if Peyper didn't get annoyed with his own TMO ......

Thought it was ok. On replay the irishsr played it with his palms 'up'. Normally it's a slap down.
In normal time it looked dodgy though!
That refereeing performance by peyper is second only to a Wayne Barnes classic against the ABs. Dreadful.

Cane's tackle on Henshaw is clearly shoulder to shoulder at the same time (or possibly slightly after) the head clash. Shit luck for Henshaw...he'll be hurting.
However, the Irish fans are culpable for Cane's actions. I distinctly remember 50,000 people pre- game inciting Cane. They said "....shoulder to shoulder, we'll answer Ireland's call."

Definiteitely big head clash first which means what happens next is severely compromised. When two players come together as quickly as that, the collision happens before anything else can.
Shouldn't be acted upon imo

I'm just watching a replay, I'm at the 57 minute mark, and i just want to say, Peyper is fucking us, there are 2 sets of rules being played here. The leeway given to Ireland at the ruck is criminal, while every single little thing by us is blown.

That was a clear yellow. Swinging arm round the temples.
I don't think Barrett grounded it but should have been a yellow and penalty try.
Fekitoa deserved yellow. Canes was a head clash that made it look bad on slo mo.

That was an excellent test - I was pretty worried until we scored the third try. Ireland were dominating for most of the middle 60 minutes of that match and only some great defending kept them out.
Was surprised and quite relieved they took the three points just before halftime - I would have packed another scrum, looked at least for another penalty and another man in the bin.
Lots of stupid penalties given away by the ABs, especially in the second half - every time we had a chance to build some momentum and clear the line someone would do something stupid and back under the pump we'd go.
Fekitoa's tackle was an absolute shocker - different day, different ref and he could have got a red for that.
Thought the Irish played really well - nullified a lot of our strengths. Their lineout was well drilled, loosies had the better of ours, they grabbed most of the 50-50 high balls.
Our scrum seemed to have a slight edge and we took our handful of chances better.
Been a very valuable series, bearing in mind the Lions next year. They've sent us home with plenty to think about.
