All the window dressing aside Ireland have came to play today - they still don't have much on attack unless they catch you on a bad day - but absolutely full credit for actually fronting and giving a good tight test.

It isn't the ref making high tackles taking the head offs the opponents or doing the Aaron Smith offside play at the breakdown. Just curious why you say Peyper is a home town ref. Between him and TMO he gave AB's 14 points for free. He didn't have balls to go to TMO on a forward pass. We all know the try wasn't grounded by Beaudy. Refs must realize that with cams from all angles things get picked up. 2 errors from TMO / Peyper cost Ireland the game. Wait for the press.

Clearly grounded the ball on the first replay angle (and a head high to boot)
THe second was a line ball - once the ref calls it, you need more than a crowd booing to overturn. Looked fine to me - look at the lines on the ground and the hand action to clarify
You don't need to look at lines on the ground only the action of the passer. There is no way barring incompetence that would be called a clear and obvious forward pass.
We don't all know the ball wasn't grounded. I saw ball touch ground from one angle and doubt from another angle. The first over rules the second.Hear hear

I doubt Ireland will turn up with the same intensity against the wobs. They clearly targeted the Abs, and their injuries won't help them either. I am picking a win to the wobs next week.

@ACT-Crusader I'm not defending his tackle it was definitely poor and reckless, but Smith's poor box kick after we had just weathered a storm on defence put us in a position under pressure yet again which could easily have been avoided.

Wow. I have seen some dumb shit on here over the years but that is right up there. I have a TV screen that is more than capable of showing a players hands being directed away from the try line.
Funny how these idiots show up after the odd win against the AB. The Saffas always do it then disappear - some notable exceptions of course.

A few months ago (June Internationals), Boks beat Ireland 2-1 in a home series (with Ireland winning first game in SA). A lot has changed since June with Bok team basically going down hill (hardly won a game since, except 1 against Argentinia). Back then I noticed Irish having a good season. Based on Chicago and today, I think they will give Aus a good go (as long as there aren't injuries).

Just logged on to say fair play and cheers for a cracking series lads.
Proper, hard as nails rugby from two teams who wanted to play ball. Was delighted to get that monkey off our backs a fortnight ago and proud of the effort today, especially from our pack even if we lacked that little bit of attacking guile that sees your lads through when your backs are against the wall.
As losing Crotty last week affected your attack, there's no shame in losing our attacking shape after losing Sexton and Henshaw so early. That and your fellas superb defence was the difference in the game for me.
That and Brodie Retallick. What a beast of a player and the best player in the world by a distance in my book. I thought we had the edge in a lot of areas of the pack but that fecker evened the scales all on his own!
Agreed with Hansen's comments on there being no malice in any of the tough play tonight. The ref was a bit all over the place but I didn't think either side came off worse and we've only ourselves to blame for not exploiting the rubs of the green we did get. The decisions not to scrum penalties close to the line when we had a man advantage were shockers.
Anyway, enough rambling. Just wanted to say congrats and cheers for a fantastic 2 rugby!

Just saw this slow-mo of the Cane high tackle on YouTube. At the time in the match I thought it was more of a head-clash and a penalty only was a fair call, but the second angle here looks really ugly.
I expect a citing for both Cane and Fekitoa.
