Ireland v NZ - Chicago Showdown & Dublin Duel
-
I made a point yesterday on the Maori thread that our receiver in general play is way too flat. Julian dropped the pass at around the 67-68 minute mark because of this when the pass went sightly behind him. The same thing happened when Squire fired the pass forward to Coles in the last ten minutes. I have seen so many tries called back due to the pass being forward as a result of this flat alignment. This annoys me no end.

Well that went all right.
Wonder how the Dublin game will go?
Commiserations New Zealand. Great game.
Congrats bro!!
The Dublin game will be a whitewash, given this was supposed to be the walkover!

Congrats to the Irish. Can't stand them but they played awesome and kicked our ass fair and square this week.
I hope we touch them up in Dublin.I fear we're going to get flooded with NH posters this week. (Not directed at you Pot Hale, you can bask in this win around here for the next couple of weeks).

You must be delighted. You don't have to be as calm!

Gah, that stings. Sunk by a hideously shit first half. I hope Hansen makes them watch the first half over and over.
I hope Hansen watches it over and over too - locks play locks, blindside flankers who eat people play on the blindside and then the bogan mullet can come on and cut up tiring defences.

Wow, well done Ireland.
Well coached, well executed, you brought your A game and deserved the win. Congratulations.
All Blacks almost did enough - lacked cohesion and accuracy, partly due to the quality defence that Ireland brought to the table. Joe Schmidt should take a bow, that is one quality coaching performance. and the attacking mindset got them over the line.
I don't feel that upset to be honest. A little sad to lose the unbeaten record against the Irish, but it had to happen. So well played.
That said, it felt like a bit of a perfect storm. Bad discipline, poor handling, key injuries, not responding to the ref - all leads to a loss. Lucky it wasn't by more to be fair.
Well done Ireland, well played and well deserved.
Well said and my thoughts exactly

@taniwharugby no jokes, this is serious stuff!

That must feel like winning a WC for Ireland, that win was more then a century in the making. What a result. You can't take anything away from them, they held off an awesome onslaught from the men in black in the 2nd 40.
The ABs will get shit piled on them by all and sundry. There will be talk of arrogance, complancy, you name it, but at the end of the day all that happened is that they were outplayed on the day. The loss hurts but that 2nd 40 was the most exciting stuff I've watched in a while.
I'm immensly proud of our achievements this year after losing the core of our team to retirement. The 18 wins on the trot was a great ride and unlikely to be beaten any time soon. So go easy lads, one loss doesn't change any of that.

It is only right and proper to congratulate Pot Hale.
