@taniwharugby I can almost guarantee that Franks would've been the one to push off DHP.....
damn right he will, right in the eyes! hahaha!
LOL quality.
Franks would have been 20 metres upfield, offside by two fucking metres like he is every other phase of play.
-
@NTA your second picture there shows the danger of a static photo to argue the point of a moving situation.
It may be exactly as you describe however DHP has already effected Saveas run and slowed him in the split second before raising his elbow.
Now if we really want to be pedantic about Laws DHP was at one point ahead of his team mate in possession of the ball and continued moving forward.....
@taniwharugby on the Rugbyrefs forum they made the same point about Franks and agreed in a materiality call it would mean they wouldn't call back the try. When judging materiality they look at the actual situation not a general one. -

So it "may" be as I described, but DHP has "definitely" affected Savea at this point.
Right. I'm taking your word for that, I suppose...

Thank god for that. A reply without a stupid gif.
The "may be as you describe" comment was because we can't actually see in that shot that is the moment before lifting the elbow. We can, however, see that DHP is already in contact.

this argument is getting dumber by the hour

@mariner4life no you are.

Contact isn't actually problem - you said as much in your analysis with various arms and whatnot. Shoulder-to-shoulder is fine.
Its the point where DHP actually pushes Savea off his line that is the issue, which basically happens in the next half-step.
I'm just making the point that Speight was never going to be caught in a tackle - but maybe an ankle tap - from that point. Which highlights how pointless (and damaging) DHP's actions were.
-
@taniwharugby Its page 13 of the thread. What do you expect?

No. Owen's call was that DHP deliberately changed his line to impede Savea. He didn't mention the elbow. The elbow thing just made it all the more obvious and brought it to attention.
The call was for deliberate obstruction. -

We've seen blown up stills, however we're yet to see frame by frame images with bright neon arrows accompanied by monotone voice over commentary. So still has some ways to go.
-
@ACT-Crusader good point. I can't wait for that.

Are you guys done? Can we talk about how Owens cheated us out of that last try? Forward pass my ass, that was a try.

Two trys! Score line flattered Oz

Plus the missed headbutt from that hoopah scumbag.
What all this has done is distract everyone from the fact that the Wallabies got done by 27. 20 fucking 7. That is them playing well and the ABs having a fairly off night.
If the second game was a moral victory for Aus because it was only a 20 point loss and they "fronted" what does that make this game? Not to mention getting done 3-0 twice this year. Clown can get fucked. Worst coach ever.

@NTA shoulda been Red and a 12 month ban.
Fuck it gets worse - check this out:

I've just realised the Wallabies made 75 tackles! That's at least... like... 15 AB tries!
You blokes have been had.
-
@NTA I saw it shown on the big screen once (didnt get replayed) and the Scottish bloke (not MN5, and luckily with better rugby knowledge) sitting next to me said he was a grub, moments later you saw Owens walk over and speak to him, then nothing, so I doubt the citing commissioner missed it, so he obviously decided it was nothing.
I have watched parts of the game since, and not seen anything.
Maybe this was part of Cheikas deflection plan?

Still yet to see footage of this. Anyone got something?
I think Phipps either pushed Hooper over headfirst or ripped his head off and threw it. Yet again, Philthy Phipps gets away unpunished.
