New Welsh rugby song by Skinner and Baddiel "Two Lions On A Plane”

If those two get injured, the only Welshman with the Lions will be the kit man. 😉

@MiketheSnow It depends how you define bolter.

Henry Pollock's burst on the scene that's for sure, but my point was his inclusion isn't a surprise given how he's been playing.

If Doris was fit he wouldn’t have made it

Cummings and Hansen are the only surprises. And those aren't massive ones. No bolter.

Strong squad. The Aussies have their work cut out.

Cummings would not have been in (my) contention, but it’s looking like they see Beirne as a munter of a 6 rather than a second row. Hansen a bolter for sure, more so in that he was crocked. I’d add McCarthy as a bit of a left field selection as his star seemed to have diminished.

Welsh boys on a difficult one. There has to be a view that “put them in a decent team etc”. Certainly Williams fits that mould.

Overall though, not a contentious selection.

@MiketheSnow - how much can you get behind this squad? I'm not fishing here, I'm genuinely curious. When there's more kiwi's in the squad than Welsh, is it something you can really get your heart and soul behind?

On a pure basis, I just don’t like it, but thems the rules and on a needs must basis, any International side would pick on the same basis. It doesn’t make me any less passionate, but…

    Not enough Irishmen. 😉

While Sheehan should be the test hooker, is Kelleher better than George or Lake? They've selected some Irish reserves.

Most of them were born in Scotland too !

All eight in the test team might be pushing it but I’ll settle for six starters and two on the bench

Any less and I’ll be supporting the Wallabies

I'm excited for this series. GO THE WALLABIES. I definitely think the Aussies can pull together a side that can win this.

I think the biggest issue for Australia is their 10. I assume Lolesio has the front running but Lynagh is also playing very well for the Reds.

Anyone know when that squad is announced?

Was there any big surprises? Mack Hansen the biggest surprise for me, I mean he's a decent player, but a Lion? I would have gone Darcy Graham ahead of him, and not just because he's a Scot.

    100% behind them

Even when Russell scores the series winning try ?

I am surprised by Hansen Daly Cummings Pollock and Kelleher. Rest is all as expected. I was expecting to see Lake, Graham, Willis, Doris and Fehi Wiboso, but I guess the last 3 were ruled out.
So tough luck for Graham and Lake, but far more predictable than we might expect for a Lions squad!

We have better players than Australia

It’s all about the selections and tactics

If Farrell tries to get us to play like Ireland then we’ll lose the series

    That puzzle has been solved

What about the Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English, Tongans, Samoans, Australians and South Africans ?

    JOC?

JOC would be a good guy to have on the bench, he can cover multiple positions, he's shown form to compete at this level again and he has experience that will be beneficial late in the game.

You should, you're selecting from four countries.

It’s not as simple as that, as you well know
