That final play summed up a lot for both teams. Saders relentless, Highlanders... less so.

Would have liked to have seen Reece feed Fihaki would have made for a good contest against JRK ..

Well done Crusaders, just far too good. Like I said last week, the gap against the chiefs showed itself and it was no different tonight. There’s a big gap. On to next week against Moana, one I suspect is going to be another very tough battle. The show goes on

So what better measure than playing in the same game, in the same position to judge a winger by how many tries scored (since that is the only real measure).

    That Springer donut was satisfying.

Ths competition is exposing a couple of previously hyped coaches - Jamie Joseph and Vern Cotter.
And helping the reputation of a previously maligned one - Rob Penney.

I'm curious to the changes in that saders coaching group from last year. They're not exactly convincing but apart from the chiefs the other kiwi teams are terrible. Crusaders are just relentless though.

It’s the fact they can sit back on years on winning and experience. When things go wrong they can simple go back to what they know. The highlanders don’t have that luxury

I think everyone just needs to look why they were so bad last year. They had just bugger all of their test players available. Tis year they got them back, and you can see difference, Crusaders had 9 ABs on field, Highlanders had 2. The big difference between the Crusaders this and last year is the number of test players they got..They weren't that bad last year relly, with what they had available.

Ellison was replaced by Mooar as Crusaders 2IC, fuck that's not great for ABs....

Ellison was terrible last year as Crusaders 2IC and now ABs have a coaching group woefully out of their depth.

Don't forget Murphy saying "tackle" before the ball somehow spews out the side of a ruck. 😲

Razor has struggled to attract quality support coaches to his set up, for whatever reason. The other worry is I’m not sure how well SR is setting our players up for international rugby where you need to maintain focus and shape your game to a much higher level. So much headless chook stuff at SR level.

In form super players were predominantly the best players for the ABs last year.

The more super rugby goes one, the more you wonder that Wayne Smith and Mick Bryce were responsible for the skill set of the All Blacks players

The same positions that were an issue for the ABs last year remain a problem though… how many 10s do we have who are intl level… props are good, locks there’s a few up and comers but no one quite there for a break out season yet (though Vaa’i maturing nicely)… our number 8 (Ardie) arguably isn’t an 8 and unbalances the loosies… behind Taylor the hookers aren’t exactly firing… halfback needs to be Roigard, but he looks a but subpar. Are fullback/right wing settled? That’s what worries me, and I don’t see a whole lot of progression in this comp.
