im a big legend of zelda fan....but im really cautious

my biggest concern is the defining feature for zelda games in my mind is the element based dungeons, at least 3 (fire, water forest) but often more.....and one movie doesnt do them justice....maybe 20 min each or something if we need world building at the start and then a climax at the end....but a 3-6 movie franchise probably wont work....a limited series 5-6 hours long episodes

the do need to have the courage for him not to speak...as soon as he speaks all the zelda fans are going to be "thats not my Link"

‘The Legend of Zelda’ Live-Action Movie Gets a Release Date

'The Legend of Zelda' movie will arrive March 26, 2027, per a Nintendo post on their Nintendo Today! app.

This is probably the nerdiest fern post. Ever.

My sons played the games on PS4, they are awesome fun. Very immersive worlds !

    Lights Out

Frank Grillo is a cool dude but he plays the same character in everything I've seen and stars in some pretty shit movies. This isn't an exception.

Some fun and kinda silly fight scenes and the chick that he moves in with has terrific cans.

Other than that probably one to avoid unless you're extremely bored.

    Old Henry

Netflix film set in the wild west.

A fella called Henry lives on an isolated farm with his son, Wyatt, when trouble comes to thier doorstep.

Pretty decent movie, starts slowly but otherwise moves along at a good pace.

3.5 pretend sheriffs out of 5 oh, so that's who he is

Really enjoyed it, and good to see Tim Blake Nelson getting a lead role

@Kiwiwomble Have there been any successful video game adaptation movies? Genuinely asking.

First couple of Resident Evils were good. The rest shit.

    Silent Hill was good

Last of Us is outstanding although it’s a TV show……

    That’s probably it

I watched the second one with CF Jr. It's no War and Peace, but it was good fun. I assume #1 would be similarly good

Yeah - Hitman is a guilty pleasure of mine. As @canefan says - not War and Peace, but decent dumb fun.
But then - you can't really go wrong with Timmy Elephant.
Which reminds me - need to re-watch Deadwood, and finally watch the movie.

I can't remember if there is a separate thread for it, but I just finished watching the final series of Cobra Kai. If you like happy endings, and were a fan of the movies or the series, it was satisfyingly wrapped up with a nice black bow

    @Kruse Hitman also has Olga.

Most of the movies adapted from video games are enjoyable but aren't movies you would watch multiple times.

    Street Fighter was ABSOLUTELY awful.

Then Mortal Kombat came out and said "hold my beer"

Having wasted a few dollar coins on the game back in the day I thought this would have been a fight to remember.......

    worst fight scene EVER

    A Fish called Wanda

It probably says a lot about the state of Movies on Neon that this jumped out and I immediately felt the need to watch it for the first time in years.

Still a classic, some top notch performances, Kevin Kline absolutely kills it. I don't think I've ever seen a character quite like him in a movie. Obviously you need to leave logic at the door as to how that quartet would meet up and plan a robbery but there you go.

Really fun watch, not sure animal rights activists would be too happy but it was a different time.

The Angelina Jolie Tomb Raiders were pretty successful, although they did unleash Gerard Butler on the world which may annoy some, but I thought the less successful Alicia Vikander one was better.

    Tombstone

    • Starting to watch it - while stoned - as I'm sure Doc Holliday would want
    • Don't expect much rational review... I'm already getting paranoid that I'm rambling.
      • And that I'm using that word wrong. Fuck I'm a lightweight when it comes to weed.
    • 20 minutes midway in - I remember why this was so 'good'...
      • It's a fucking cartoon. A live-action cartoon of the Wild West.
      • The Iceman chewing up scenery like laudanum pellets.
      • Everybody else being as cheesy as hell.
    • 75% of the way in - I'm calling it early - a glorious ham-fisted cartoon-ish western... for your enjoyment sir.
    • So much fun.
    • Thank you Val.

Oh - titwatch of zero. Harrumph.
